<p>Your statements are unclear. What is “all that”? Did they give you the option of using the IRS Data Retrieval Tool? You don’t send anything with your fafsa application. They are looking to make sure that the income information you entered for yourself and your parents on the fafsa is accurate, i.e. is the same as what was sent to the IRS.</p>
<p>OP, all they are doing is verifying that the information you put into your FAFSA matches what was reported on the tax filing. If they didn’t verify information you could put whatever you want into the FAFSA application. FAFSA determines eligibility for federal aid…the tax returns are federal returns. Just do what the college asks, no more no less.</p>
