Nope, no other forms needed. If you submitted your FAFSA and the authorization form for your HS to release your GPA for the Cal Grants, that’s it. My DD has heard back already. You can go to www.webgrants4students.org and create an account to check your status.

what is the authorization form for my HS…? do i contact my hs?

If you are an incoming freshman, ask your high school if they sent it. I remember mine did not so I didn’t get considered for a cal grant. At UCSD, the financial aid office told me they sent it for me each year (even now that I’m graduating…nice, eh?) so if you weren’t told that it was sent, get it in now!

I think the ‘verification’ and ‘authorization’ form are the same. As mentioned, you can check your Cal Grant status at the site ^^ above. It will indicate whether they have your GPA or not. Also ask the counselor at your high school whether they sent it in for you, just in case!

i went to the website, and my status is ‘pending.’ does this mean that they received my GPA?

I also went to the financial office today and they told me that if i EVER did cal grant, which i did last year, i don’t have to do it again for next year! they are renewed everytime when we do our fafsa… but i don’t understand how they will get my GPA…but yeah that’s what the financial office said…

I got this from the website:

How do I renew my Cal Grant?
Cal Grant A and B awards are automatically renewed each year in June for students who:
-have at least $100 in financial need;
-have satisfied a minimum number of terms*; and
-have at least 10% remaining program eligibility.
Once your Cal Grant is renewed, you will be able to process a school change for the upcoming academic year, if needed.
*Activity for prior year terms must be posted to your account with the minimum of 1 term reported for semester schools and 2 terms reported for quarter schools.

The financial aid office can get your GPA. They have access to much more sensitive information (your finances, obviously). If you are a continuing student (aka, here already) then relax and follow their instructions, which will be to fill out your FAFSA.

i already submitted my fafsa on february but if i make corrections on march 1st or march 2nd, and since the processing time will take 2-3 days, did i still make it under the deadline or no??

I believe you’re fine. As long as it’s not a significant change it shouldnt matter

and also… i was careless and skimmed through alot of questions, so i had to make 4 minor changes total. will this affect me badly? i mean i didn’t make 4 changes because i was being dishonest, but i just didn’t have information at that time and kept changing once i obtained them from my parents…

thanks in advance
