Failed Cancellation of the ACT

I'm still shocked that it failed.
Complying with the website I sent them the letter with my home address and whatnot, and they simply never responded.
I thought they were taking a while until this morning I received scores!

I gave up on the ACT science because I took the test impromptu without realizing the Science portion was one hell of a pill.

My SAT score is much better (2230), where this failed-cancellation ACT is a 31 composite.

Do I essentially have to redeem myself with the ACT or else risk making my SAT score seem like a fluke?
Can I delete my ACT score now?

Don’t worry. A 31 is not a bad score when taken just once!

Did you report your score to colleges or to your high school? If not, you have nothing to worry about. If you did report your scores, you need to contact ACT immediately to see if anything can be done. That is not a bad score at all, however. I would be thrilled with a 31. Some people just do better on one test over another, that is why they generally just consider your highest score any way.

ok. call ACT at (319) 317 1270.

They also have a chat available online. You can have scores deleted from your permanent record after you see it.

If you had your ACT score reported to your school, you need to have that removed. Depending on how your high school handles things you may or may not have to throw a fit to get it done, but it WILL get done if you are persistent.

Your high school will either delete the score, you’ll threaten to sue and then they’ll delete your score, or your high school will delete your score at ACT’s request since you obviously asked ACT to delete your score before scores even came out.

A 31 compared to a 2230 is not a good score, so I totally understand your concern.

If you didn’t have ACT send your score to colleges or your high school (ie you registered as a home schooled student) then you have nothing to worry about and no reason to delete your score. You can not disclose this ACT even to schools that require you do, and nothing will happen. They have no way to verify.
