its been 2 weeks and 2 days since I received the "we are delighted to inform you that we are recommending you to the Dean of the Office of Graduate Studies (OGS) for admission into the Master's program in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering" from UCSD.

However, I have yet to hear anything back from the office of graduate studies.
Should I be worried?

are there anyone else in the same boat? Where you have received the "we are recommending you for admission" email, but you have yet to hear the official word?

Looks like everyone has done well for themselves, congrats! Here is my list:

Cornell - MAE - Accepted
Princeton - MAE - Accepted
Michigan - AE - Accepted
Ga Tech - AE - Accepted
Berkeley - ME - Accepted
UCLA - MAE - Accepted
Northwestern - ME - Accepted
Caltech - ME - paid visit
Stanford - ME - n/a

I've heard a rumor that people are being offered to fly out to visit Stanford so I'm guessing that I won't be getting funding from them since they aren't flying me out.

Right now I'm leaning towards Princeton (possibly Cal Tech if they give me good news) but I'll have to wait until after the visits to make the final decision.

I received that message on Feb 8th and on Feb 12th I received an email from the OGS. It basically says you've been admitted and you need to fill out the intent to register stuff.

anyone else run across this issue concerning financial aid?:

grad schools need the FAFSA by ~march 1st. when completing the FAFSA, you may list up to 6 schools to receive it. but, most grad schools (for most programs) start accepting people on march 1st. i applied to 11 schools... i guess i'll just list what i view as my top 6 choices... just hopefully some of those 6 schools accept me... and hopefully they remain in my top list... :-/

heh. not freaked out, but just really eager. i am a lil worried though about the fafsa as i mentioned... seems like the deadline is way too early since i wont have heard back from most of my schools by then... doesn't make sense to me.

Has anyone heard back from Carnegie Mellon Computer Science?

Excerpt from CMU SCS FAQ:
"
Is it possible to visit the campus and the School of Computer Science?
We ask that you wait until you have been admitted to a program before you visit. If admitted, you will be notified early in February and invited to attend our Open House in March. ...
"

I haven't heard from them, so I guess I didn't get in. Can anyone confirm? Thanks.

heh, tell me about it. i haven't heard from 10 of my 11 schools, and i've been waiting for mit and berk for 5 years now :-) this last month is a killer.

i just received an email from stanford history, saying i'm on the alternate list. so i'm just wondering, should i just resign myself to the fact that mostly everyone on the waiting list will be denied admission...it's just a matter of when?
