Fall 07: Acceptances/Rejections

phpguru, me and a few others here were already rejected from berk's cs program... so, maybe you are a potential candidate! u applied for ee i take it... maybe there are at the same stage in their admissions...

phpguru, I also have not heard from Stanford's EE and MIT's EECS. MIT's visit weekend is on March 2-3. So, if we got in, we should hear this week. The website also says that decisions are sent out in late february.
As for Stanford....I have no clue! Good luck to you and to me.

I won't even challenge you on your baseless assumptions about my son

how .. big of you?

NJ Beagle,

I misread your post directed at me, which is my fault, not yours. I understand your point now and it is well taken. I think you have to understand that I wasn't attacking you per se in any of my comments. If you read over some of what I said, you will notice that alot of what I said doesn't apply to you at all. You don't seem like an overbearing mother, just very involved. Being involved in your childs life, at any stage of it, is a very good thing.

YAY!!!! Just got my acceptance to Teacher's College, Colubmbia for the MA in TESOL!!!! I can't believe it...now I'm just waiting on one more school (PSU).

phpguru, as far as I know, Stanford EE is still processing applications. But Berkeley EE started sending admission emails 2 weeks ago.

Yeah, Berkeley EE has been sending out admissions for two weeks but I emailed them and they said the EE division is still making decisions.

Updated:

Stanford - EE - MS/PhD - waiting
Berkeley - EE - MS/PhD - waiting
*MIT - EE - PhD - rejected (emailed them for decision)
Cornell - EE - PhD - waiting
UCSD - EE - MS/PhD - accepted (with 3 years aid)
Michigan - EE - MS/PhD - accepted
UCSB - EE - MS/PhD - invite for grad weekend

Concentration: Devices / RFIC

Hopefully good news from Stanford and Berkeley is on its way!

Grats on columbia Apple.

Thanks, merper68!

Just got accepted to Cornell for MS-PhD in EE. Phpguru, did you get accepted too?BTW, when did MIT reject you?

GSme, Congrats!

I haven't heard yet from Cornell. Maybe today is the lucky day ;]

I emailed MIT this morning for a decision since I've seen a lot of responses on thegradcafe.

Thanks.
Ok. I give up on MIT too. It is very sad.

And yea I guess I give up on MIT too. Not such a big deal to me because MIT was never a top choice for me.
Sadly, my top choice (CMU) rejected me yesterday.
I hopped over to thegradcafe to take a quick look, and it shows many MIT EECS rejections over the phone. It seems kind of strange that they go through the trouble of rejecting people over the phone.

I guess it's because they snail mail their rejections so people phone in to ask.

Success is me! My first acceptance

"We have examined your application and are please to inform you that you have either been admitted to our program already, or will be admitted shortly. Based on your outstanding academic record you will almost certainly be receiving a financial offer from us, as well."

Texas - Accepted
Michigan - Waiting
