Fall 07: Acceptances/Rejections

There are PLENTY of schools that hate Texas, and for good reason.

Worse. Fanbase. Ever.

oklahoma. i've also been accepted into USC (i think pete carroll is a douchebag...but the song girls are nice)

Hey, Pete isn't a douchebag!...I think.

Regardless, the song girls totally offset any amount of douchiness prsent in USC, Los Angeles, the State of California and pretty much the nation, as far as I'm concerned.

anyone hear from UT-austin ECE yet???

I personally don't like the USC area, or most of the people there. And sorry to break it to you leadpipe, but everybody thinks Pete is a douchebag :)

And I agree with the fact that Texas has a pretty bad fanbase. Then again I like UT, OU and Arkansas. Just that UT has a better program for me or else I would've applied to OU and Arkansas too...

Anyway, GO BLUE!

wow...one of my schools just offered me full funding + a stipend....and this is at the masters level so that's a shocker! I am going to wait to see if other schools can match or top this!

My D is applying for art. So far:
SCAD - accepted 12/06 with 15k/yr scholarship
MICA - accepted 1/31/07 (scholarship finalist)
Mass Art - accepted 12/06
Towson - accepted 12/06
Syracuse - waiting

oops...i see this thread is under grad school so my previous post is n/a.

sorry.

ah, so that is for undergrad? I'll be glad if it is, because you've given me a minor heart attach. There has been no word on my MFA application from either SCAD or MICA. Indeed, my interview with MICA was after your daughter was admitted, so we must be applying to different programs.

Got that dreaded rejection letter from MIT today. :-(

Did anyone who got admitted to Cornell receive financial award information?

Congrats walrus, my top choice is UM...

i've still only heard from 2 schools... but today:

google @ santa monica - summer internship - software quality assurance - accepted

:-) does that count? for some reason, it makes me feel at least as good as getting into brown or so. oh, plus it's like 10 miles from UCLA. yay!

I want to work at Google, I heard they treat their employees with the coolest things (although they work you like no tomorrow). At least at the Mountain View Google...

Dear Applicant,

The Admissions committee in the Department of Computer
Science at Duke University wishes to thank you for your
interest in the graduate program and for submitting your
application for consideration for admission for Fall 2007.

The committee had quite a challenge before them with a
very strong applicant pool. We earlier had indicated that
we would have our decisions made by March 1 but regretably
it has taken a bit longer than expected to come to our
final decisions.

We will complete the selection process and submit our
recommendations for admission to the Dean of the Graduate
School by Monday, March 5. Allowing a few days for the
Graduate School to do final verification of scores,
transcripts, etc. and to approve the admission, you can
expect to receive notification about the final status
of your application no later than March 7.
