Sucessful transfers to a UC from a CC! help!

I was wondering...

Is the GPA you apply with, the final GPA UCs will use to make a decision? I will have a GPA of about 3.35 by the time i apply in the fall with all major prep courses completed for the UC i want to attend. I plan to pull my GPA up, but i wanted to know whether or not the GPA I earn after I send in my application will help me in any way.

I know that if you don't maintain a certain GPA they will deny you admission if they have admitted you already, so if it hurts you to let your GPA slip, can it help you if you bring it up?

Also, how much does a rising or falling grade trend affect my application?

My grade displays a clear rise and I was just wondering if that could give me an edge.

A rising trend in grades always is a positive thing. I think some UCs weigh grade trends more heavily than others, but all like to see a upwards trend.

In terms of your other question, the UCs will not see any grades after your January update. They will, however, request final transcripts once you have been admitted. Sometimes your admission can come with very specific requirements such as “Do not get a grade less than B in course X” and sometimes they are more generic such as “Do not fail any of your classes” or “Do not get a grade less than B in any of your classes”.

Regardless, I would try your best to do as well as possible this semester. If you go to grad school, apply for scholarships or for jobs that require transcripts, they will all see your grades this semester, even if the UC admissions committee won’t.

I got 1D, 4Cs before I transfered out to UCLA. the first two Cs and D were received my very first semester at cc. then i just got pretty much straight As until my last semester. haha

and yes, I totally slacked off my last semester at cc as well. they can take back ur admission if ur last semester grade is lower than 3.2. (i got a 3.2. hahah)
