When did you have everything sent it plnlin2?

I submitted my application on 2/22. UT did not receive my transcript until around 3/25. I had to have my cc fax to prove I requested on 2/22 and it was sent on 2/24.

how many classes will i have to take during the summer to bring my GPA up to a 3.2-3.4 preferably? (like a guess if i took 3 hour credit classes)
i really want to bring it up to a 3.4 by the end of the summer, but i’m trying to be realistic.
i will have like 40-45 hours by the end of this spring.

i really want to transfer to UT, but i need like a 3.4 to even be considered .
and i’m talking about transferring for the spring '11.
i’m sooo nervous.

Had 2 letters of recommendation one from a PreCalc professor and another form the director of Advising. Wrote two good essays that were reviewed by peers and families. Had a Custom formatted resume with multiple extra curricular and hobbies included

So Happy I was admitted if anyone wants additional info Id be happy and try and answer your questions.

Manay, that depends on your existing GPA and number of credits taken.

Multiply your existing GPA times the number of credits you have taken. Next, multiply your expected GPA for the credits for next semester. Divide this number by the total number of credits, existing and future.

So if you currently have 30 credits at an overall 3.0 gpa, that equals 90 (30 x 3 = 90). Assuming you making a 4.0 on your next 15 credits, that’s 60 (4.0 x 15 = 60). Now you divide this weighted number by the total number of credits, so that you get the average GPA over all credits taken. (90 + 60)/ 45 credits = 3.33 overall GPA

Did anyone’s status go from “we have recieved all items… the committee is currently reviewing your application for admission” to just “we have recieved all the items needed to review your application for admission” before you guys were accepted or rejected?

Did you guys have any letters of recs? How about the optional essay?

No I didn’t have any letters of rec nor did I do the optional essay
Only the two that were required

@Jaysen - Which community college did you attend? I’m currently at HCC with a 3.4 and 30 hours. I’m taking 27 hours this semester, but I’m not sure if I will make an A in my Finite Math course. I applied to COLA with only 27 hours and a 3.22, so I have to send in the updated transcript. I’m not sure if I should just send it with the 3.4, or wait until I finish this semester…

I did the optional essay, describing a medical hardship I faced that ruined my high school GPA and first semester of college. My SOP was about my desire to be an ecological anthropologist and my Issue of Importance was concerning humanitarianism, which I related back to some philanthropic events that occurred while my parents were trying to get US citizenship during a visit to Texas.

I got two letters of recs, one from a EnviroSci prof and the other from an Anth prof, both of which pertain to my major. My resume includes a lengthy amount of major-related community service and job experience (Texas Campaign for the Environment and Houston Museum of Natural Science, mission trips to Mexico, Organic Food Bank, Hindu Temple dancer/Sankrit teacher), as well as a long history of EC’s (president of high school orchestra, cross country team, marine biology organization).

I got a copy of my current transcript with the 3.4, just in case I don’t do as well as I hoped in my Finite course - but I’m worried that even the 3.4 isn’t good enough.

What do you think? Sorry about the long post, it’s just that UT is my dream school and the only school my parents will pay for me to attend. :(

Right off the bat ill tell you your application seems stronger them mine.
I had no LOR or EC but I focused on the 2 required essays and i think thats what made the difference
I got accepted with a 3.46 and your not far from that but i dont know how tough it is transfer into your major.
So if you wrote some great essays and with your other LOR and EC’s I think you will be alright.

Thanks. I don’t think there are a ton of Anth applicants, but I could be wrong.
