@theleakers, how did UCLA turn out for you? I suppose you were asleep when the decisions came out? everyone on CC was waiting for you haha

@mykkim

I know tons of people that didn’t get in. Everyone’s opinion UCLA’s admission decisions is all relative, though. However, most of them applied under the HSSEAS…

@Junebin

I think a better approach at that question is to just forage through this thread. Personally, I don’t like asking people if they got in or not, because you can tell from how they type. It’s only a day after admission decisions, so the ecstatic or depressed feeling is still lingering for a couple of hours/days.

Of course, he could be optimistic about this :D

On topic…I hope they really do come out today…

I did not get in … I am moire relief that the wait is over and move on with life
one less decision to make, life is still good

actually really excited about UCI, with their new major of computer game science
I think academically UCB, UCLA and UCSD have a better reputation (which also mean more study), but I feel UCI is probably a better fit for me, and you never know how it will eventually turn out, I might find a real cute girlfriend in UCI …

I know three people who were accepted to UCLA, and six rejects. Everyone with a 4.0 uw was accepted; everyone with less than a 4.0 was rejected. Maybe they know our school has grade inflation…

okay. i am NOT trying to say that UCLA was easy to get into!!! and i acknowledge that i basically got in due to a pure MIRACLE. but why is ucla coming up in a ucsd decision thread. i was just worried about my acceptance to ucsd, judging that the only reason i got into ucla was through a P.U.R.E miracle (& a million prayers from my family).

@theleakers

Hope you like your women asian ;).

@mykkim

Because UCLA came out yesterday, and because it’s a UC.

@theleadkers hahahaha that’s certainly a possibility! or you might actually end up being at Caltech and not find a cute girlfriend too/// what would you trade if you could pick either one? :)

P.S. I did not get into UCLA either, and I totally agree with you with the fact that the wait is finally over and life still goes on!!

@LackingKnowledge, I could’ve been a bit careless about that, but I thought I could just ask him straightforward since I did not get in either… I would’ve phrased it otherwise if I actually DID get into UCLA…

okay~ i TOTALLY take back what i said earlier 100%.

does ucsd usually send out their admission letters near the time of ucla’s ? how nerve-wracking… ):

AHHHHHHHHHHHHH, I can’t login to my portal! I get a “problem loading page” thing. Anybody else not able to log in?

that happened to me to like the first time that i tried. just open up a new tab and go to myapplication.ucsd.edu and if you had already logged in and it was just the next page that was not working, then it should work… at least it worked for me…

I think for this year, whoever gets in will be able to enter the portal, whoever does not get in will not even able to enter the portal, lewis, I am just kidding …

I like my women asian, american, blonde, ebony, I love them all the same
as long as they love me …

alright, it worked. Thanks!

edit: haha leakers that was mean. I’m not expecting to be accepting anyways though lol.

Lewis, I apologize for being mean <ggg>
but what can you expect from a dude who just get kick in the groin by UCLA …</ggg>

Leakers - that was some nap you took yesterday. We missed you!

nothing new yett… gahh. i hope they come out today. i can’t handle all this suspensee.

Matrix, my nap is good, the result from UCLA is not
but life goes on … and I view the college admission like a lotto
accepted by UCLA is like you bought 10 bucks of lotto ticket and accepted by UCI is like I bought 2 bucks of lotto ticket …
of course you get a better chance of hitting the jackpot with 10 tickets, but that does not mean the guy with 2 tickets will not win …
plus, there is a chance to transfer as a junior or as a graduate student …
so nothing to feel bad here …

Well if it’s any consolation, UCLA kicked me too, along with a number of other really qualified candidates from my high school.

my stats are
3.8 UW GPA, 4.1 W GPA
SAT 2130 Subject Math 800, Physics 770
ACT 35
so if UCLA does not accept me, I have done all I can, there is nothing more to do
UCI could prove to be a better fit, I think they have 100 Computer Science students vs 300 for UCLA …

I’m pretty sure that I’ll get in, I got into UCLA though and I’d rather go there for CompSci. The one I’m waiting for is MIT on Monday.

Those are excellent STATS. Just goes to show sometimes it makes no sense and there are no guarantees. We will all get over it eventually and hopefully end up exactly where we are supposed to be.
