Fall 2011 Admission Decisions

Damn. I really should’ve sent in a picture. Think it’s gonna hurt my chances?

i dont think so. didnt someone who was admitted last year post about not sending a picture?

i sent one of me and my kids from photobooth.

Its the only thing on the application that is not required. They say a picture would be helpful to include a face with the application, and I am sure it will only help, but I doubt not furnishing one will work against you since it was made explicit that there will be no ill will against not having one. If anything that would be a breach of trust if they did use it against you.

But I am pretty sure the adcoms are getting a pretty good laugh out of my picture though. LOL. I couldnt help but laugh at it myself.

Haha thanks @Liz and @Random. Actually, sending in a pic of my ugly mug probably would’ve worked against me! Sounds funny @Random!

Hopefully tomorrow will finally be the day where we all start getting our acceptance calls!

One can only hope. An acceptance from any school this month would make for a good birthday gift for me :D

@random : me too! I’m an April baby and a yes from Columbia would be really nice

I would take it as a late birthday present or early. Either way it wouldn’t matter to me lol

Wish we could call and find out when they are going to make the decisions. I wonder if they read this thread. If they do, please call the applicant with the initials RL from Brick NJ that has been in contact with MR, it would be much appreciated LOL

Good Morning My Dear Forumers!

I hope you all had a great weekend and didn’t go too crazy;)
Am I the only one who received an email from Columbia University yesterday and almost had a heart attack?
I saw on my phone it was was from CU and I logged in to see the whole email, and BAM!! there it was!.. it was an advertisement from CUGS to apply for the June 1st deadline…(Hello I applied for May 1st ) no need to torture a poor soul with an email unrelated to an acceptance…OHhhh the agony! :(

Well, like Baxter say; hopefully TODAY is the day when we all get our acceptance calls. :)

BTW : Happy Belated Birthday and Happy Early Birthday to all you April babies … Gooooooo April!..lol :)

Good morning to all and good luck! New week same hope!

Nope…no e-mail from Columbia for me

10 o’clock seemed to be the earliest time anyone received calls in the last forums…hopefully our phones will be ringing anytime now

Baxter, why would you get an email? As far as I know, GS has never communicated admissions decisions through email.

Edit: oops, just saw the earlier post about GS spam.

hellojan- invictvs said she got an e-mail inviting her to apply for regular decision

Invictvs hails from Venus…most certainly a SHE  …lol!

A call today would be very nice, keep me from going completely crazy for the rest of the week

To tell you the truth, the email got me worried, why would they send me this?
So of course, I called and ask  “It was just a solicitation. No need to worry” admissions said…
3 weeks left before we all know the final outcome :-o
I wish it was MY birthday, just so that I can make a wish for an acceptance :)

You should have asked about the decisions lol.

And it is 19 days 13 hours and 26 minutes…don’t make it any longer than it has to be lol

I know, I know! The best of me wanted to  …But since she mentioned that my application was under review…I didn’t push it.
I just wanted to make sure my application was ok and that the GS email had absolutely nothing to do with my app. Yes I know… just lend myself to the arms of uncertainty and anxious agony for the next three weeks…why not right?? lol … Also, this is not how I want to find out :-p …lol…I rather find out the same way everyone will (“The Phone Call”) …I wanted the definitive moment to be like it should be… Oh I hope that acceptance comes through! (closing my eyes and wishing, wishing, wishing*)
