Anybody else in my shoes??

I’m pretty sure that interviews for GS are not normal… I think that those are special circumstances.

What about the financial aid website trick? Is anyone doing that yet? That’s how I found out I was accepted, before the phone call and the FedEx delivery.

I’d have to agree with Juniper7 and Macho07. From what the GS site says, and from what I’ve read in the various GS threads it seems like most applicants who ARE accepted ARE NOT interviewed. Interviews seem to be reserved for those who GS is on the fence about. The Science Po program thing-a-ma-bob (I’m pretty sure that’s the official name of the program) seems to do a lot more interviews (again, based on what I’ve read on this forum). But I’m sure there are various reasons why they would need/want to interview a prospect for that kind of program.

As much as I tell myself to relax, I’m losing lots of sleep over this whole thing. Good luck everybody!

“Financial aid website trick”?? Please explain it to us! I’d love to try it out!

do you mean if we go to the “track your application” site but go towards the financial aid part instead of the app part, we should be able to log in if we have been accepted?

mine still says “we can not validate your account” when i attempt to log in to the financial aid section as a first time user.

Apparently you will be able to log into Financial Aid if you have been accepted. And YES, I have been trying this everyday. Still no luck.

I’m surprisingly feeling less and less frenzied about these as the days go by because I remind myself that there are more options. But still…

Yes, juniper7 has it right. If you click through to the financial aid site, attempt to log in, (enter your ID, then your 8-digit date of birth as your password), and are then successfully logged in under your name, you’re in. At least, that’s how it has worked in the past. Note, there will not be any financial award data there yet, even if it logs you in. Also note, NOT getting logged in for some time DOES NOT mean you’re rejected.

The “trick” didn’t work for everyone who was accepted, but everyone for whom it DID work WAS accepted.

@MusaeumClausum

Ah! Thank you:)

i feel the same way juniper.

I actually didn’t really give much a thought since things have been so busy lately… I’ve been here for 5 minutes and realized just how close decision time is, a bit nervous now heh

Does the financial aid “trick” work for the applicants who applied to the Sciences Po dual-degree??

As always, thank you MC!

Yeah, it’s weird. Even though there are lots of options (many of them of costing a fraction, if anything, of what GS will end up costing, plus being great schools in their own right), Columbia takes precedence by far. Well, at least to me it does. My anxiety has no outward signs, but it’s definitely weighing heavy in the subconscious department.

True Juniper, but if you can’t log in than one can also assume that you got denied. Not good for the paranoid ones with mild anxiety and history of panic attacks :p

Interviews aren’t typical. More often than not they’re conducted to answer concerns that the admissions committee may have about an applicant’s a academic credentials.

If you haven’t been asked to interview, it could be a good thing.

@Brohlijk: Reading through the threads it seems that some people were unable to login to Financial Aid even AFTER they had been accepted. Don’t start panicking!!!

You could still try calling FedEx, but I assume that they ship the packages the same day they call so it might be a moot point

@juniper:(texting from crisis center) thank you :D

I’m going to assume (and hope) that the silence of the forums means that they did not make the calls today.

No meng, none yet. But if you happen to look in the horizon and see me sitting on top if a giant brick then that means I got accepted
