LOL …@bro!

Checked the mail…YAY! No rejection lol

Our biggest error was to rely on the 4-6 window.

Im feeling an ulcer setting in…JK

We were also relying on past forums about when they got their decisions

This time around, when GS said you will receive a response by May 1st, they meant you will receive a response ON MAY 1st …lol!
…
It’s OK guys, we are all bummed out now, but I bet you the next two weeks are going to be crucial. We haven’t received a response by now, which means that we will ALL receive our responses around the same time between next week ( week of the 18th) & the following (25th), so brace yourselves, it’s going to be a bumpy ride and hopefully there won’t be any sad faces.

this is also the first time they are doing that Po sciences double major so I would assume that has had an additive effect on admissions. That or, gasp, no one in this thread is qualified… LOL

Ohh those PO double majors! …lol …jk ;)

lol!

You either had perfect timing when submitting your app or one hell of an application @Greathal! I’ll assume a combination of both (heavy on the amazing app).

So another day has come and pretty much gone. Maybe the two weeks until May 1st will allow us to regroup and rest our anxiety ridden hearts and minds in preparation for the big celebration, or the horrible letdown. For now though, I think pancakes sound good for lunch!

A contact I have in GS just told me that we will all receive decisions BY May 1st. The 4-6 week time frame is for Regular Decisions, not early.

If you finish your online application before March 1st, but a few of your documents arrive later (A transcript [one of two] arrived according to the tracking site, on March 3rd), does that make you RD or still ED?

Other than that one transcript, everything of mine arrived in Feb, the latest being my current transcript on the 28th.

Thanks for the info @Bax.

@phillyman: as long as an applicant is communicating with admissions regarding the applicant’s situation/timing, the EA status still applies. Like a lot of applicants, I made sure that every detail was on track and that admissions was well aware of any potential problems and/or scenarios. I submitted everything (except my GSAE score) in very early Feb. I didnt take the GSAE until the end of March, but they assured me countless times (via email and phone) that I still qualified for EA. In fact, around the day of the deadline I spoke to them on the phone, and they mentioned a one week grace period for everything coming in late. Then, just last week I submitted that optional essay, while making sure that I still qualified, and sure enough, there was no problem at all. I think GS is extremely forgiving and flexible. (I hope this makes sense, I’m typing it on my phone at the grocery store).

What james says is true. Even Kari Razdow herself mentioned that they were flexible.

To be in, or not to be in, that is the question:
Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer
The slings and arrows of outrageous anxiety,
Or to take arms against a sea of troubles by calling GS and asking for my decision?,
And by opposing them againts rejection of acceptance? To dream, to sleep,
No more; and by a sleep to say we end
The heart-ache of rejection, and the thousand natural shocks
That flesh is heir to after knowledge of such decadence: 'tis this waiting is a consummation
Devoutly to be adhere to against my will.
To dream, to sleep; No more
To sleep, perchance to dream of a rigorous education– ay, there’s the rub:
For in that sleep I dream of acceptance and what dreams may come,
When we have shuffled off this coil of uncertainty,
Must give us pause – there’s the respect
That makes calamity of so long rejection.
ohhh acceptance…please deliver me from the uncertainty I am dwelling in…
(thank you, thank you…curtain closes*)…lol! :)

LOL!!! You’re awesome Invic!

I JUST GOT ACCEPTED!

omg

i think im gunna puke.

Congratulations Liz!!

I am happy someone got the call…and hope that means more are coming!

i was in the middle of a statistics midterm. i got out and saw a missed call from an unknown number… i must have looked crazy becasue i just dropped my backback in the middle of the hall so that i could call her back immediately…

what a day.

It’s heating up in here. James, I feel comparatively less amazing after seeing everyone else who applied. And remember that GS admissions are qualitative, not quantitative. Which is why I’ll be really excited to attend with the lot of you!

@Liz: Woo!!! Columbia will send a towel.

Really Liz!!! Woooohooo Congrats!! tell us all about it!!! two down - is it 6 more to go?
Did they call you, emailed you, mailed …oh deluge, deluge…not the puke …the details!
