Fall 2011 Admission Decisions

Who here is taking classes while waiting for decisions?

I’m actually in the same boat somewhat. I’m at NYU and summer school starts May 23rd, but you must register prior to that date. Which courses I take over summer are heavily correlated with what happens in terms of GS.

LPS is also bad, as they have a crazy transfer credit evaluation process and that evaluation is heavily the factor in whether or not I attend - in addition to their scholarship program, which doesn’t even begin reviewing applicants until JUNE 1ST!

That being said, Columbia is ten steps up for me in terms of transfer in comparison to Penn, simply because its so close to where I am, and the BA/MBA program

I really need to know if I am going to Columbia or not because getting a Student Visa is a long process which the American Embassy loves to take its time with…I’ve also applied to NYU-Gallatin so I need an answer from any of the two so I can start the paperwork. Anyone applying to NYU too?

I know that my application is “currently under review”, but if I call will I get more information?

ps: I am a girl too, so that makes four of us

I am currently enrolled in the Spring Semester (my last semester). I know that Liz is taking classes too (as she was in the middle of her stats midterm when she got the call).

@ CUNY & Juniper …Alright! ladies are taking over !! :D

I’m going dark. I’ll be back after the 1st.

Another day without a rejection letter in the mail. Whew

@ bro… really, just now? cause I have been in the dark since my submission. Admissions, let there be light and pls grant me acceptance! …lol

I’m actually at NYU right now taking four courses, and plan on taking courses over the summer as well.

I wonder if those of us who are taking courses will be notified soon whether or not they will admit us, reject us, or wait until we’ve completed our Spring courses for final evaluation.

@philly Liz is taking classes and she was already notified

Interesting. I’ve heard that if your on the fence, they’ll reach out to you and let you know that they are going to wait until your Spring grades are completed. I wonder, if any of us are in that boat, whether they’ll let us know before May 1st or after.

I don’t want to be on the fence! I want to be on the other side with Liz & Greathal hmph! (pouting*)

On the real, I do not want to be on that boat, it is hard enough waiting until May 1st. Can’t imagine waiting until June to hear with the rest of the applicant pool…oh no…worst nightmare…worse than Elm st! “Freddie dont got nothing on this!” :o

On another note… 2 hours left!! oooooOOOOoooooo! :D

Good god I need to change my user name. I feel so violated.

For all you trollers out there, my real name is chuck and I’m from chicago.

Girlfriend: I got no such email. Only a call and an inward bound (though not received yet) Fed Ex parcel.

I know that the powers that be just hired three summer tour guides for admitted and applying GS students. I think they start giving tours like next week, so, I would venture to guess that the bulk of ED applicants will know by then?

In the meantime, something to carefully consider: [Peter Thiel: We’re in a Bubble and It’s Not the Internet.
^that was in response to a question you posted like 2 pages ago. Its not as random as it sounds : )

Once y’alls get admitted, let’s start a thread about how were actually going to pay for it.

Also I just noticed that all of Columbia’s affiliated preschools wanted applications for the 2011-12 school year LAST september! LA is apparently laid back in comparison to NYC in this reguard. Hopefully I can find someone (anyone?) to watch my offspring next fall.

Oh and thanks again hellojan for all your advice!

For some reason I have a feeling you are male even though your screen name hints otherwise…

Lmao! Chuck from Chicago!

You’re always super helpful HelloJan, will you be one of those three new tour guides?

So where is everyone’s contingency plan going to take them? In the hopefully very off chance you need it

UCLA and Berkeley are waiting for my decision, but I want to learn from and with the best. I’m looking at you Columbia!

If King’s College won’t have me I plan to go to Queen’s College, it’s colonial counter-part lol

Thank god spring break is here, at least I can take my mind off studies while I worry.
