Congrats Patrick312!!! That’s awesome!

Random: I’m hoping you get that good news sooner than later. You’ve waited long enough!

Friddeshh: I like your story and determination. Here’s to hoping you don’t have to wait until the 6th round!

Bluedoor: I submitted a second essay a few weeks after the EA deadline. I felt like I could head off any possible questions that could arise from an adcom reading my autobio essay. There were some things that needed to be cleared up that just didn’t go with the flow of my ~2500 word autobio essay. I’m glad that I submitted it. I was accepted, so an optional essay didn’t hurt. However, if you can fully, clearly, and smoothly explain yourself in just the autobio essay, there’s no reason to write the optional one.

Wait234: I dropped out of HS midway through sophomore year and was accepted. From my experience, and echoing the other posters, recent performance can redeem you.

Wait hold on, your stating that if you were an ED applicant, and asked for spring grades, once those spring grades are turned in you have to wait an additional 2-4 weeks? They cant just review it upon its arrival??

Really confused. I was thinking I’d hear back relatively fast after i submit my grades.

@ lol at James, I was wondering where you went. Its cool that you came back to the forum.

@ Philly. I was thinking the exact same thing!.. Its really annoying me that they cant expedite things and make it 1 week. It should really be that way… I am going on three months of waiting…

Random how long ago did you submit your spring grades to them if you dont mind me asking?

Today is exactly a week. I submitted it on a rainy day. If you look at the previous page of this thread, I posted on here exactly the same time I turned in the transcripts.

When did you turn yours in?

I have a weird feeling that adcoms are going to make me jump through hoops and add an interview…

what makes you think that random?

Question for all applicants; do you feel that if you submit all your application without the fee later on would they still process the application or not?
Because I submitted everything except for the application fee. What are my chances of not getting in because of that?
Thank You

You need to submit the fee for them to look at your stuff at all I believe.

Yeah, definitely pay the fee, or call them up and ask for a fee waiver. When I went to a session at a local college the rep gave me a waiver card (unfortunately I’d already paid the fee at that point).

Random, keep us posted. Also with the other schools you applied.

Okay!?

No problem, I should be hearing something soon in a couple weeks. So tired of the waiting.

Random still rooting for you!!!

i will be going to UCLA in the fall but it was great getting to know you all!!

I know tons of people going to UCLA. You’ll enjoy yourself there.

@LIZ! Thanks for the support!

WHAT HAPPENED? I thought you were coming to GS???

it would have been insanely expensive with two kids in preschool. like i would have had to take out a $30,000 loan JUST for the kids’ daycare. arg. I got a Phi Theta Kappa scholarship for $8,500 but that wouldnt really put a dent in the double tuitions i would be paying. I am now however dreaming of grad school at columbia instead…

but i wish all of you the best of luck. my grandfather graduated from UCLA in 1950 so i guess i will just be carrying on a tradition of sorts.

ps whatever happened to Ivictuvs? i think that was how she spelled it.

Good luck at UCLA.

I have no idea. I think he didnt get accepted. How much in aid did you get all together? What was the balance if dont mind me asking?

Well, UCLA is a great school any way. I used to dream about going to UCLA or UCB myself. If I still lived in Los Angeles, I think Columbia, or any east coast school, wouldnt have ever crossed my mind.

Any other Early Action applicants out there that had their decisions extended to regular admissions?

Great luck to you, Liz!
