never posted before…
I was just wondering when they stop admitting people, or when they start rejections?

Also I just spoke to someone on the phone today who wanted to ask me a couple questions, not an interview, just clearing some things up, is that a bad sign? She just asked a couple questions and nothing regarding my academics… I don’t know if it’s just a formality and she was really disintrested.
I don’t have any work experience or anything like that, or a break in my education, and I’m definitly younger than a typical gs student, I just wanted to attend part time as I am a ballet dancer…

any info or opinions are greatly appreciated and I can put more of my info if it would help you develop your opinion:)

GD2008, I’m waiting for their decision too. It’s on their website says they will make the decision before July 15th, so I guess I’m kind of hoping till then. Also my spring grades are out, when I call them asking if I can tell them the grade, they said I have to resend my transcript. Hopefully this is not gonna delay my decision again. Waiting is just killing me :(

Soph, I believe someone has to have more than one year break in his/her education to be eligible for applying to GS… Have you been to their website? Young is not the problem since they have 17 year old staying there, but I think a one year break/special explanation is needed to apply…

I spoke with them before and they said that to be considered a non-traditional student you have to go part-time or have a one year break, so , since I have to go part time I’m eligible.

I spoke with someone at GS today and they told me a decision would be made in four to six weeks from tomorrow (Friday). Hopefully I hear something much sooner since it seems like a lot of people have already been either accepted/rejected. They don’t have my high school recommendation and transcript (which was mailed to them) so hopefully that won’t negatively impact the decision making process.

soph00, you definitely are eligible. moonandstars, it’s possible they are simply misfiled at the office. If I remember correctly, they have a file/cabinet/drawer dedicated to documents that have yet to be sorted/organized into the individual student-specific folders/files. You should double check with them. I remember the same thing happening to me once.

Thanks! I’m going to keep double checking with them. I’ve called everyday this week just to make sure nothing is missing from my application. Everytime I’ve called so far…there was an issue that needed to be corrected :s

I went and visited the campus yesterday for the first time. Academically Columbia is, obviously for all of us, what we’re looking for. Emotionally for me though, Columbia appeals as well. Finally, I have a real campus of my own :)

Thanks for the reminder Patrick. I sent a copy of my PTK membership and society “Dilpoma,” prior but I will send it again to make sure they consider me for a PTK scholarship.

Thank you, Coma. I called and asked if what you had suggested in your earlier comment was possible. They said it was and looked in every single pile until they found it. I appreciate that you responded to me. I probably would not have had the inspiration to call them back otherwise.
