I was curious who all is applying. :) It doesn't seem like many people are posting this go around.

That’s two so far :-)

Meeeeeeeee.

Four so far! I’m applying EA. The next month or so of waiting is gonna cost me some sleep!

yoooooouuuuuuu

What do you guys plan on majoring in?

Looking at Psychology or Political Science, but that is subject to change of course :)

philosophy.

where is everyone applying?

Rice, UT Austin, maybe Baylor.

Biology

UCLA, UC Berkeley, UC San Diego.

ha, i am appliying to UCLA, Berkeley, and UCSD as well. and NYU just for fun.

Nobody rag on philosophy. It’s a really, really tough major here!

was someone ragging? i’m used to it. lol.

I was just heading it off.

Philosophy lol!!! <kidding> </kidding>

Being a little more serious, what made you choose philosophy? Had considered it myself because of personal interest, but not sure what I would have done with it after college. (Except maybe law)

thanks for looking out. what is your major, Hello Jan?

Johnny45: i love philosophy! it teaches you to think logically, which is applicable to any profession you might find yourself in one day.

i would like to either go on to a grad program or to law school. i spent a few years trying to major in something “more practical” but found myself disinterested and ultimately missing the humanities.

LizfromHollywood: Very true. I got entangled in philosophy after reading “The Republic” and some other classics, but Logic class proved to be the real treat. (Me and a friend from Logic used to have a blast in another philosophy class yelling out “Logical fallacy!” when people were arguing. They didn’t like it.)

Philosophy is a good choice for law school it seems, as well. My Phil. professor went from law school to community college. An interesting life change on his part, but an excellent person to learn from.

I ended up choosing Behavior Science after developing an intense curiosity in why people act and think the way they do. The curious thing is as much as I have learned it seems like the class more teaches how much we really dont know, heh!

I hope the quiet nature of the GS forum reflects how many people are applying, lol
