Fall 2013 Early Action

I’m not attending in OC. I’m going to the one in NY Tuesday.

Apollyon1983, I too am attending the OC event. Here’s hoping all Columbia uncertainties are cleared thereafter.

Of course, I misread (which is totally something I would do on my first post!). Apologies.

Agreed! I’m a bit apprehensive regarding several issues.

Lol Apollyon1983

@GimmeShelter: RD = Regular decision. The deadline for that was June 1st

I have a random question if anyone can answer this, please! I was admitted to GS for early action, already, and I’ve been trying to use the career/job posting website, LionShare, where employers in NYC can put up job postings exclusively for Columbia undergrads. However, I it won’t let me log on. Does it work for any of you guys? Or maybe it will work once we are registered for classes and officially enrolled? Any ideas?
I’m desperately job hunting because I moved to NYC already, btw haha -__-

By the way, I’m excited for all of those RD acceptances to come in! For those of you waiting to hear back, stay strong!

@ sketchbook LionShare won’t be avilable to new students until the fall. I was also trying to access it to no avail, and that’s what they told me when I contacted them.

I just received a second overnight Columbia acceptance package… Too weird! I was expecting a letter explaining how they had come to their senses and reversed my acceptance decision.

At least now I can say I got in to Columbia… Twice!

Ha! I got one too. I hope this doesn’t mean I have to pay double tuition :D

Hello all! I know that I am very late to this thread, but I have enjoyed reading all 51 pages! I have applied RD to GS and am awaiting a decision. Unfortunately, I just took the GSAE last week and my app was not complete until May 31, so I fear the wait may be into July. Are there any others with a similar situation?

I’m still waiting on that post of grumpy cat or some boobs. What’s up, natdcny?

Also, but not as important, for those of you that have already gone to an APS, have you registered for classes already?? How’d it go?

Is anybody here going to the APS in SF??

TN2015 you should hear pretty soon. I was amazed at the turn around. If they have everything but your GSAE score it should only take like a week (or less) for them to generate the score and send out a decision. It literally happened that fast for me.

Not hearing from UAH is starting to bug me out. Has anyone had success reaching out to them for housing assignments? I got put on hold by a disgruntled student aid and never gotten taken off. Lovely.

Thank you, Motame! I was able to log in to the FA website today, but unable yesterday. I do wonder if that really means you are accepted as many have said…anyone have any thoughts on that?

Registered and ready for the fall! 15 credits BOOM… Starting off easy.

Sean8448, I said “somebody” post a picture of grumpy cat or boobs! My courage only reaches so far… this is after all a Columbia thread and I don’t want to offend anyone before Ive even started! I’ve got the whole first semester for that! :-D

To those of you waiting for housing assignments… I called UAH today, finally got through, and they told me assignments would be out by the 1st of July and to be on the look out for the e-mail from UAH.

If you can articulate a vision, of how a Columbia experience will enhance your ability to help your country, I would be surprised if you weren’t a strong candidate.

@sktchbook: “Stay strong”: Lol! If only!! My wife checks the mail twice a day:/ If I don’t get in, I may have to console my wife for a week. You know “shiva” and all. Will have to deal with my own disappointment in therapy next decade:( ROFL

Would appreciate if those here awaiting UAH info would post some basic stats when they get their housing, ie size of apt (bed/bath/square footage), relative location, any other info (walk up, elevator, doorman, etc) and of course price.

I’m deferring my acceptance and am just trying to get a handle on all possible housing options.

Thanks in advance!
