Thanks, I thought the April 1st date was just the latest they’d come, but usually came some time in Feb or March.

I’m new to this site. I’ve applied to General Illustration and i gave my portfolio the best i could so i hope it’s what FIT wants and that they accept me. I haven’t applied anywhere else so that makes it more scary for me but i’m keeping the faith.

Good luck to all!

They send e-mails on like the last 3 days of March stating that the person is accepted and that their packet is on the way.

This waiting is killing me! This is the only school I applied to (back up plan being community school). All my friends are getting all their acceptance letters and I’m just sitting in a corner waiting with my fingers crossed. Applied to Interior Design major. I have a good feeling but I don’t want to jump to conclusions on anything.

Anyway! Good luck to everyone waiting! Hopefully the next month and a half until we get our decisions will go by quickly.

It shows on my account that all my forms and supplemental material were receieved before the priority deadline EXCEPT for one of my transcripts that had a couple college credits on it. My account shows that was received a few days AFTER the priority deadline…does anyone know if that late transcript will keep me out of priority consideration?

I think as long as the post date shows they were sent before the deadline you should be fine.

Thanks!

@TransferAppFIT

Hahaha the same thing happened to me. I was panicking because I saw the “FIT” in the corner, but when I pulled it out it was just a financial aid postcard. FIT, why you gotta play us like that

@IreneBean exactly lmao did you apply to FIT before deadline?

@TransferAppFIT

Yes, I submitted my portfolio right on the deadline (Feb 1st) lol. I literally worked on the fashion design portfolio until the last second. How about you?

@IreneBean That’s good lol and yeah I started on August 1st and was done with mailing transcripts by September, my major didn’t require a portfolio so the process was pretty easy for me lol.

i’m with everyone on the waiting- its seriously agonizing!!

do any other FMM applicants (or any major i suppose) see “not yet updated” when they look at their application summary? i submitted everything well before the deadlines and this only appeared recently. does this have to do with the fact that theyre currently looking at my application?

^You’re correct. I’m also an FMM applicant and a few weeks ago I called admissions and they said that my application hadn’t been reviewed. I’m not sure if they’ll ever update it though. Don’t worry though

I’m a freshman FMM too and the wait really is terrible!! I have heard that if you apply to the business school (which I did) and you are academically successful in high school(AP classes and good grades) they send out a small group of acceptance letters to kids in the begining to middle of march, before everyone else finds out. Hopefully will be hearing then or in the end of march!!

Anyone heard how selective they are for General Illustration GPA-wise? Is it more about the art portfolio submitted?

Ok… So why do they notify so late? This wait is horrible… They should have a December 1 deadline like everyone else so people can plan their lives. This is crazy!!

@rockvt Your GPA doesn’t matter for any of the art majors, it’s all about your portfolio!

@Xcarreo Yay, another FMM freshman! Just wondering, where did you hear about an early March admissions decision for those with freshman advanced standing? I have that on my app, but when I spoke to an admissions representative over the phone, I was told that the earliest would be the middle of March. Looking back at a Fall '13 thread on this site, somebody within the same pool received their admissions letter on March 18, but it would be nice if that changed so that we’d find out earlier.

@pheobebuffay Yes, I have it on mine too, don’t worry!

Also, did anybody apply for the scholars program?

@artsyfartsy96 Thanks for the info!

@artsyfartsy96 I applied for the scholars program, but I feel like my chances are much slimmer for that tan general admission. Did you apply? It’s a great opportunity.
