Fall 2014 Applicants Unite!

@rollieee i applied for fmm anf I still haven’t heard anything back yet! Hopefully soon though!

Hi guys! I’ve recently decided that I want to attend FIT. I am currently attending a local community college, and in January, I will apply for fall 2015 with a 3.12 GPA. Do you think I have a chance? I did kind of poorly because I had no idea what I wanted to study and I was just sad and lost.

@Xtinadoll what are you applying for? With a 3.12 GPA I would say you have a chance however I wouldn’t apply in January lol Apps open up August 1st.

@limjuliana Congrats! See you on campus next semester!

@Rollieee I’m Waitlisted for FMM and I still haven’t gotten an answer every week I think something’s going to come and it doesn’t

I really wish I knew how many people are on the wait list for fmm and my number on it

@Rollieee‌ @TransferAppFIT thank you so much!!! :slight_smile:

Guys, I’m kinda worried with the cost… Some people say that the website is accurate, but some people say that we spend a lot more eventually bc of the materials and stuff…does anyone know anything about it?

@‌ Yeah supplies and stuff is super expensive the tuition is just the base price plus you’re gonna be living in nyc so food and going out and stuff everyday gets really expensive

UGH! This wait is killing me! :frowning: Do you guys think that the school is going to send out the decision letters soon?

@limjuliana I would talk to a Financial Advisor to be sure.

@ebs1995 :frowning: do you think that the collegeboard is pretty acccurate with the cost? it shows the estimated cost of everything (tuition, room and board, food, etc)

@limjuliana‌ did you get like the acceptance packet or a postal mail from the school?

@limjuliana I’m honestly not sure. I think it’s probably somewhat accurate for flat fees such as tuition etc. but things like food (if you’re not doing a meal plan), shopping, going out, and stuff like that no because it depends on the person. Some people shop and go out more than others but regardless nyc is expensive. Also, if you’re a design major it’s going to be much more because of supplies and fabric and other things like that. Business majors have it easier b/c it’s just textbooks. I would try to get in touch with current FIT students especially if you’re going for design to see how much they spend. That would give you a more accurate idea of how much is truly is.

@ebs1995‌ hehe i’ll probably do that ! thank you so much! (:

@bini0625‌ noo, I sent them an email confirming my enrollment for spring 2015 and asking when my admission packet would get here and they said it would get by December 1st (:

So hey guys! I’ll be leaving to go to Korea next week, and I’m afraid that I will miss the decision letters that the school is going to send out. Since I won’t be home for a long time, do you guys think that the school will tell me whether I got accepted or not on the phone??

@bini0625 unfortunately I highly doubt it it’s a security thing they might tell u if a letter has been sent though if possible have a friend or family member check your mailbox for you and they could let you know

Still no word from FIT one girl who goes to my school was also Waitlisted but for a different major and she was offered either to go in the fall but do her 1st year in Italy or to start in the spring semester instead I would gladly accept that offer

Did anyone receive Certified Mail? I came home from school and was surprised with a sorry we missed you tag from usps. I looked up possible reasons of getting certified mail and one of them was college acceptance. Just wanted to know if anyone else experienced this too! Let me know!
