Omg, my application is in review. I submitted it a day before the deadline.

OOS, not in review yet. App completed 2/27.

@WannaMovetoTokyo I wouldnt worry about it. I submitted mine the day of the deadline, and my app turned into ‘in review’ around the 8th. Lots of apps they need to sort through and get together, just give it time.

@rangers32 I am sure their office is buried in a mountain of applications now. Hope all of us make it to our desired programs.

My application still says in review on the top of the screen…Ahhh! Good luck everyone :*

When do the earliest admission decisions come out?

Has anyone started looking for places to live?

Yup! I am looking at a condo in far west. most likely going to start my own lease instead of sublease since I am a 2014 summer applicant.

@lovechickfila

Let me get accepted first, then I’ll into housing lol

Hahaha! I don’t know if we should be looking sooner rather than later, just in case? I do not know how fast student housins fills up in Austin. :/

Anyone been through the process know when to start worrying about what?

There will always be places to live, but they may not always be what you want. It’s good to be looking though, especially since you’ll be finding out soon!

My friend who is also transferring wanted to know if grades below a C are factored into your UT gpa if you get accepted.

@Korsgaard If you’re accepted for transfer your GPA starts over at a 0.0.

Yeah that’s what I thought.

@saborak does everyone’s GPA start over after being accepted? I thought that only applied to CAP students.

@JeffWinger When I went to go talk to the admissions office they just said that if admitted as a transfer than your GPA starts at 0.0, so I’m assuming everyone

I can’t decide if that is a good thing or a bad thing ^

If you a have a 4.0 then it could be a bad thing I guess, but if you have < 3.5 then it could be great! It all depends on how you look at it I kind of like it because even though I have a good GPA here, I’ll be going someone new and fresh starts are always nice!

I had the same question as all yall…lol should we apply now for housing or wait until acceptance? It makes sense to wait until you hear back but by April I’m sure all on campus housing is filled…

@maria268 This is my personal opinion, but I think it would be wise to just look around different housing options, and have everything set and ready to go so you know where you are going to live once you are accepted but without actually pulling the trigger on signing any leases or anything like that. I personally know someone that had an apartment all ready to go and signed for, then got rejected. It was very awkward for him.

@jjyoon, okay thanks so much. Yeah I definitely will do that.
lol… it’s awkward for me now too because I’m already in petroleum engineering at the University of Houston and I don’t even want to leave and technically “start over”. Just applied because my parents are giving me crap all the time… but I love it here. But I also would love the opportunity to go to UT…ahh confusion…

okay done with rant lol

Thank you again.

The GPA does in fact start at 0!

Look for housing if you think your chances are good. Some leases you have 30 days to back out of them, like my apartment in Far West!
