@slee25 Yeah, impacted alternates are not allowed, but non-impacted alternates are.
Your chances seem great! We seem to be kind of in a similar boat, both psychology majors, I moved out when I was 18, am 23 now, and worked the past 5 years; Iāve also grew up with my mom running a home daycare, a grandma with Alzheimerās living with my mom and I, and acted practically my whole life. I have a 3.3, though, so Iām not expecting to get into ucla, but Iām praying for davis! Good luck!
@sammycatt Yeah, Iām also TAP certified and have seen TAP certified students with high GPAS not getting in. Donāt lose hope! Iāve seen people with lower GPAs get into UCLA.
@lyonsbot Thanks! I hope I get in for either of my majors. I just get worried because I know I donāt have the typical application with a 3.9-4.0 GPA and a million ECs, but I hope they take into consideration that I have indeed worked hard and overcame many obstacles to get where I am. I know if I had the opportunity and time I would grab onto as many ECs as I could. But alas, I guess Iāll have to wait and see what they actually think/determine.
I think you have a good chance as well, it sounds like youāve worked really hard and your experiences show a great amount of initiative and character. I too applied to Davis so maybe Iāll be joining you at one of those two schools!
@slee25 Yikes, thatās tough. ): Iām so nervous. All these horror stories are getting to me. My worst fear is I wonāt get into any school haha. I donāt even want to think about it. Good luck, I hope everyone here gets in.
@psych95 theyāre giving out dates to different people because STUDENTS are answering the phones. They donāt know whatās going on.
@fullload I got the email as well. From what I understand, its not a ton of money.
The middle class scholarship covers something like 10% of tuition. Itās not a lot by any means, but better than nothing I guess. Itās given to people who make too much money to qualify for blue and gold, but are still below I think $150k annually.
Guys so I created a student account on MyUcla using my 9 digit UID number. When I click on āTracking Required Documentā it says that they have received my fafsa from the processor on 04/15/15. Iām not sure if this means anything? In 2012, People who were able to view their fafsa information a couple days before the actual decisions came out got in. Are any of you guys able to view your fafsa information on MyUcla (UCLA LOGON)?
Here the thread:

Iām not sure FAFSA received = acceptance. If you sent them your FAFSA, it would make sense that they have it.
well, Iām glad many of us are interested in societyā¦
major: sociology
alternate: gender studies
3.5ish gpa
anxiously waiting for Friday! I too want to sleep till then.
@psych95 I tried making a myUCLA account and couldnāt. Maybe Iām just stupid. -_- Gonna try this again.
Where is this ātracking required documentā tab? I only have one account through UCLA and thatās the application status website. I hope I didnāt miss anything here.
@psych95 Where did you get your 9-digit UID number? The only number I have is 7 digits.
@sammycatt I just made a myUCLA account via the my.ucla webpage. I got my 9-digit UID number from my CCC counselor. It was used for when we submitted our TAP certifications. I got the same message as @psych95, where my FAFSA was received but I doubt that indicates anything other than them having my FAFSA.
It has been noted that these āadmission tricksā are not certain. Your status can go either way.
@psych95 UID number? Is that your ucla ID number? How do I get this number?
@lyonsbot Iām not sure about psych95, but I got my UCLA ID from my CCC counselor to fill out our TAP certification forms.
@ilikewafflez Ah, I see. My counselor didnāt give those out when we became TAP-certified. Oh well.
I didnāt get to see the nine-digit UCLA ID on my TAP form either. I just turned it in with that part blank and am guessing they filled it out later. Hopefully I wasnāt supposed to follow up with them to make sure I was actually TAP certified, LOL :">
