@UCTransfer567 Congratulations! how was your personal statement? and did you have any extracurricular activities or work experience? I’m applying this year for UCLA I’m curious
Thank you!!
@ssnewman I am a student ambassador leader in my school and also an economics tutor :). I am an international student as well. I think what really helped me to get in is my essay, where I wrote about my passion in economics (I also wrote about my experience in economics tutor too and how it helped me to reach my future goal).
Hi I’m new here. (Sorry) Ahhhhhhhhhh I am excited! I got accepted but I feel like it was an accidental acceptance like what happened to Johns Hopkins/MIT applicants in 2014. So many people who deserved it didn’t get in and I am just in shock because I had a 3.65 GPA at time of application and no EC and I wrote my entire essay an hour before submission but I did all pre reqs and IGETC and and I really really hope this is not a dream… LA is supposed to be good for art related things I’m so happy… I keep checking the page to make sure it is real… Ahh so many emotions…
( ; - ; )
Accepted! Congrats to everyone who has been accepted to any school they applied to, not just UCLA! You’ve all worked hard at this, I’m sure!
@neptuning That’s honestly what I thought but I really hope it isn’t an accident haha. But that doesn’t matter, you got in! Congrats!!
Accepted!!!
as a communications major! I’m soo happy I can cry right now
ACCEPTED!! I was invited to Regents so this isn’t much of a shocker, but I’m so happy!! Sad thing is I don’t know if I will SIR to UCLA because Davis offered me a full scholarship… I’m really hoping I’ll get Regents but I highly highly doubt it.
Congrats everyone!!! I remember this feeling from last year. An extra welcome to all comm majors!! I’m a comm major and I LOVE the program!! It’s amazing and the Professors are so good and there are so many opportunities here for you. Don’t hesitate to ask me if you have any questions
@ssnewman I think my personal statements were pretty well written. I was president of a club on campus and I was also able to get an economics internship at my university.
@resonanx hey thank you for your reply and tips!
@UCTransfer567 Thank you for your input!
I just got into UCLA mechanical engineering!!! woohhooo
3.91 GPA Diablo Valley College. Waiting for Cal though. If I get into Cal I will go there.
Hi guys! I’ve heard that people who get into UCLA don’t get into Berkeley. I don’t know if I should celebrate my acceptance to UCLA or not because my number 1 choice is berkeley…
Now I am kinda worried about being rescinded, can anyone give an opinion?
So I got accepted, but BARELY. I had a 3.2 on the money, majored in history. I think it was because I went from a 2.something to getting straight A’s for a fully loaded year. I wrote my statement based on a life changing transfomation that got me to become a better student.
Anyway, on my app, I had listed as “planning” a two unit speech and debate club class. In the end, the class got officially cancelled around march first, and I didn’t send an email notifying the UCs. I had no control over not taking the class, but possibly might get penalized for not reporting it. I thought it was too late and might cause confusion if it was too late. Other than that, everything is fine.
So I’m just worried since I barely made it in, I imagine, and this might be seen as the last straw or something… Or am I paranoid? I would hate to lose my spot at UCLA for this one mistake!
Any other Pre-Economics transfers here?
@copenhagenlc Same I would be devastated to lose admission because of my one mistake on my application, but luckily i let them knwo about it on the TAU in march before they closed it, so Im hoping they would give me a chance. I think the best thing for you is to email them that you were admitted but missing two planning courses. After all, they were canceled… so they should be understanding
