FALL 2017 UCLA OFFICIAL TRANSFER THREAD

@inerva You can go to UCLA since its your dream school you can always transfer out of your alt. major after a while im pretty sure! You never know you might end up liking your alt. major better!! On the other hand the YAY AREA is a one of a kind place (not just saying it because I’m from there) with amazing people you’ll find your bay family there that will help you get through life day by day if thats where you choose !!! I’m personally going to UCLA to experience a different side of life maybe you should experience bay culture while I’m experiencing LA culture!!! Life is best lived without regrets so go with what you truly want none of us can decide for you. Remember everything is temporary you’ll be with your family again!!! However, it seems you have already decided that UCLA is for you since you posted more pros for UCLA than for Berkeley whatever you choose best of luck to you!!!

@Happy2Help how do you find out what was wrong with your application? I may be appealing but either way I will be applying again next year so the information would be really helpful.

Any fellow history majors? What do you guys got planned for and after undergrad?

@Ciceroo you know what it is we comin in hot

@andtherewaslight Black and yellow!!

@Ciceroo vroom vroom thick ones in the back straight to a full ride no pun intended

For my admission contract it states “Maintain Academic Performance” what does that actually mean. I speculate the UC 3.0 gpa for the spring term is expected.

@UCSBorUCLA I’ve lived in LA for all my life and I think it would be great to experience the bay area and best of luck to you too!

@inerva it depends, what matters to you more? your major or the school you go to? berkeley is basically the ivy league of public schools so it’s not like it’s a bad school to go to. but ucla is the school you’ve dreamed of going to. can you see yourself being as passionate pursuing your alternate major as you would be pursuing your actual one? even though they don’t always do so, majors usually affect what career path we’ll ultimately go down on. are your majors interchangeable in that sense that you wouldn’t mind pursuing one rather than the other? you seem to be facing a difficult scenario with amazing choices. both options don’t seem bad at all, so no matter what you choose you’ll be in a good place.

@LynAmmo ahh ok, thank you! i’ll update my parents. are they requiring you to submit extra info on both of your parents though? bc for me, i might have a problem w that since i can only send my mom’s since my dad hasn’t filed his at all

@misskelseyk others in this thread have contacted Admissions or asked their CC advisors for help in contacting them. It’s worth a try.

Hey guys I have a question! I know that we have to send in our transcripts that shows up to fall 2016, but can I send the transcripts in even if we haven’t SIR’ed yet?

what was the Facebook group for this years transfers

@bigvoot SIR first.

I actually contacted admission about this question! Once they e-mail me back I will let you know. If you happen to find out first please inform me!

Anyone majoring in geography/environmental studies?

Does anyone know if UCLA business econ major accepts TAP?

Where my EEs at? Just in case you guys don’t know, we can already apply for the Summer Session. I’m thinking about taking an easy class so I can get a “feel” of UCLA.

Does anyone know about the Transfer Experience for housing at Gardenia/Holly? I’m not totally sure what to do for housing as I don’t want to be stuck with freshies/sophomores in regular halls, but also don’t want to be stuck with people 3+ years older than me in the transfer experience at Gardenia/Holly. I’m a regular 20 year old transfer.

@buttmuncher69 I’m a 20 year old transfer as well and the ones that I’ve researched to hold a bunch of transfers close to our age group is the Deluxe triples and doubles. From what I’m seeing.
