Fall 2021 Transfer Admissions for SDSU

Hello Community,
I am a transfer undergraduate student, and SDSU is my choice. I chose my major to be Molecular and Cell Biology. I have completed all of my Biology and Chemistry requirements, however i did not take a single physics class, so i will get rejected or not?

I think a lot will have to do with your GPA and how far you’ve gotten with your major prep classes. I am not familiar with the major preps that are required for that major. I suggest you check assist to see and the SDSU major prep guidelines to be certain. Good luck!!

Hey guys! I’ve been stalking this thread for a while and decided to finally share after I completed my supplemental, I know its a long shot but here are my stats
Major: Criminal Justice
ADT: No
GPA: 3.57
Golden 4: Completed by the end of spring
Major prep: Wrapping up my last 2 classes this spring
Local: No, southern OC area
Good Luck everyone!

Hello everyone!

I’m a sophomore at a California Community College. I currently am getting my ADT to transfer in History. I got it officially verified-in progress even before the deadline. It was an evaluator from America Rust. So happy and honored. He/ she even said congratulations. Barring that I pass with all C’s (A’s in my case) in my spring semester to complete my golden four and all of my prereqs. I’m taking 3 for the spring semester for SDSU and a few of the top colleges, specifically.

Major: History
GPA: 3.29 (3.39 with ADT bump)
AAT/AS-T: Yes (In Progress for Spring, but officially verified by an evaluator)
Pre-reqs: three classes done, (three in progress), probably a few more pre reqs that I can use as well
Golden Four: A,C (In progress - STATS and engwr)
Applied: CSUF, CSUS, Cal Poly SLO, SDSU, CSULB
Local: No

Hopefully if I get all A’s in the spring semester (or a 3.5 at least) I should be able to become a 3.5+ GPA student with an adt bump as well. Hopefully I get into SLO and SDSU. My dream schools. Beach would be meh. Sac State would be great.

@Rottgrrl799 it’s because on sdsu’s supplemental application, specifically, they don’t have all classes for every golden four. Some of them you need to customize. So at the bottom of the supplemental, there is a button to create a custom class that you took. I know it’s too late now because the supplemental deadline already passed. But I hope this helps.

It was not the Golden 4 that was a problem, it was the “Preparation for the Major Courses” where there were 2 psych courses that were listed under “required” for psych major but there was no comparable course at the CC for him to take, and no where to enter a custom course (would not have had a similar custom course in any event). I was just wondering what they do in that instance. Automatically screen you out or ??? Anyway, we live in LA so it is unlikely they would choose him anyway. Good luck to all that applied!

I have a question pertaining to the golden 4, I notice some people include their specific grades for these classes… for admission are the specific grades for these golden 4 classes really being specifically evaluated, or is the overall GPA the thing that really matters?

Also, I’ve done my research on the GPA bump for people that have an ADT and noticed that a lot of CSU’s have it listed on their sites that they definitely bump GPA’s by 0.1 for transfer applicants, but I haven’t been able to find that SDSU does this for sure. Is this a for sure thing that SDSU does? I really hope so!

Probably a dumb question, but what are the golden 4?

I don’t know how to describe it correctly either probably, but they’re 4 general education courses like oral communication and logic and critical thinking (for example) that are required as part of an associate for transfer degree program.

Golden Four" courses (Oral Communication, Written Communication, Critical Thinking, Mathematics/Quantitative Reasoning)

Checked the portal this morning and noticed my ADT was received. The red x changed into a green check mark. Maybe this started happening for some of you too. :grimacing:

same Jason. But have you received any updates yet? I really want to get into both SDSU and CSULB to weigh my options. I really love them both. I did, however, get into Sac State already so I’m happY! And I’m local there so it would affect my cost of attendance. But these two are my dream schools. They have a lot of impressive people coming through their doors. Would be lovely for my future.

@Rottgrrl799 no they would not automatically screen him out I don’t think. You can check assist, but if it’s not there then maybe you don’t even have to take them at the CC level. I’m not sure. They don’t compute so you can only take them at the state college.

Wow, so today I found out I got rejected for Cal State Long Beach. This is making me really nervous now for my application to SDSU. I’m local and really want to stay home in San Diego. Here are my stats again…
