Fall Dorm Assignment Out!

Got Broward for Fall! Looks like I am on the ground floor. So excited!

How did you get this?

Email. Check the one of the website. I have it forward to me so it just came up on my normal email.

As you will see in the email, this is the first year in which there is no phone line in your rooms. This was a money saving issue. The majority of residents were using their cell phones for making calls, so there wasnt a need have full phone service which wasnt being used.

I didnt get any of my first choices and i had a november priority date...so....does anyone have any opinions or info on Riker?

Oh I didnt even notice that. Though I wasnt planning on using this so I guess it doesnt really affect me.

Is room 12 in the basement or is it on the ground level?

Is it possible your priority date was changes because of late fees or something else?

Broward is ground to 4th floor, thus room 12 would be ground. You have a small floor (1/2 the normal size).

Not to my knowledge...I turned in everything on time. Do you know anything about Riker though, I looked it up on this forum and i conly found a couple of posts mentioning it.

I don't have the greatest knowledge base on the Riker-North-Tobert area. Here is what I do know, it 90% or more freshmen. You are close to both stadiums and gator corner dining. Bus stop in front of the dorm. It should have the same atmosphere as if you were living in broward/jennings.

cool. thanks. does anyone else know anything?

no worries, riker is fine

I got Rawlings room 15, is that ground level? Is the floor a normal size? Coed?

Ground

Dont know

Coed by section

so room 417 would be fourth floor right?

Okay so I got Broward Room 1.
i also got a triple with two friends. (we requested each other).
(broward was not one of my preferences so i'm pretty po-ed)

so, my questions are..

Does anyone know anything about this room/dorm?

and

Is there ANY chance of switching out of this dorm to another?

When you guys request each other, every gets the priority date of the person with the latest date. So you might have oct 06 but you friend has march 07 and thats the date they look at.

Not 100% sure, but I think that room is a permanent triple, so you would be living in it all year unless you have a really good reason to move out. But its possible its a temp triple.

Only if its temp triple. Perm triple will be a lot hard. You need an excuse like (e.g physical harassment, etc)

thanks so much for the info. =)

this is so frustrating on soo many levels.
I REALLY wanted Beaty or a more private dorm.
And we all got a priority date sometime in November so I am just so baffled as to why this happened! (i think uf housing doesnt like me, lol)

so if i were to call on monday asking for a switch...most likely it wouldnt happen??
