Since tomorrow (June 1) is the last day to submit changes to your housing preferences, what did you list and why?

I put down Graham, Simpson, and Fletcher. All as a double. My "most important preference" was Hall.

D put down Broward, Jennings and Mallory, all as double with impt preference being Hall. She wanted these because of : the close proximity to classes, large social environment (she wants to meet lots of new people) and recommendations of current UF freshman living on campus.

ksanders--> I would of choosen Simpson, Graham, and Fletcher (in that order). Reasoning: Simpson is a all freshman dorm, unlike Graham. Simpson is conected to Trustler so you will be able to meet people from there too.

I had Hume, trustler, and Beady I think in that order, with hall being first preference.

Anyone know when we find out for sure which one we get and who our roomates are?

late june is when you find out

Ugh.. I feel like I really messed up my chances. I hope I don't get put into a triple because I put Hall as the most important preference. My priority date was in late December. Oh well

BTW.. do they usually group freshmen together as roomates in non-freshmen dorm halls?

Ksanders - why do you think you messed up your chances? Did you recently learn something new?

yeah, my priority dates is way after yours. you're guaranteed housing! why would selecting hall as top preference mess anything up?

BTW, I noticed at preview that they are renovating Mallory (and possibly Reid) dorm...new carpet and furniture for Fall! Also, the tour guide who showed us the rooms at Broward and Jennings said that to buy a shower curtain and cut it in half lengthwise to use on the two closets in the rooms for a coordinated look!

They due try to room freshmen with other freshman in typically upperclassmen dorms (i.e Murphree), but they do have freshman/sophomore and freshman/ 5th year senior combinations that I know about.

Well, I was talking to someone from Housing today, and they gave me some stats from last year on my choices (Graham, Yulee, and Simpson).. Most of the doubles were gone by late october, mid-november, and late october, respectively. But then again, there could be a different trend in preferences this year. I'm gonna stay hopeful :)

[quote=tenischica] yeah, my priority dates is way after yours. you're guaranteed housing! why would selecting hall as top preference mess anything up?

Because this will probably stick me in a triple.

Yea, Housing told me they generally try to group freshmen together, but that depends on the number of upperclassmen who are left roommate-less.

Anywho.. the only thing I can do is wait =)

Honestly I doubt you would get a triple, w/ having a priority date in december. My friend had a priority date in March his freshman year and got a temp triple in simpson and it became a double two months later.

My son got into a triple for the fall in fletcher with a junior and sophmore. Its not a temp. Good location, he is excited thinking the upperclassmen might be more serious.
