Are those semester hours or quarter hours? Because CPP will only accept a maximum of 70 semester units (105 quarter units) for CC transfers, just so you know.

Semester hours. Just thought I’d throw that out too, since I was thinking that having completed so many units might be a reason why my application status was on Received for so long…

I guess its true that they use computers to automatically pick who goes in first based on grades. My GPA is low so I’m probably gonna hear very late (if i wont get denied)

^

Yeah, my friend had a 4.0 and got accepted as well early on. However, another friend has a 2.7 and has been “ready for review” while I’ve just been at “app received”. I don’t think they’re going by the date you applied since I applied 11/23/11.

Congrats, Adrive. I hope there’s still a spot left for me as a 3.0 math major, lol. I’m pushing 95 semester units by the end of this semester.

i applied on 10/31 and I’m still on ‘app received’, maybe it has something to do with being in the engineering department since that’s where a majority of applicants go towards

My friend applied 11/06, I think. Plus or minus one day. Anyway, he applied under Mechanical Engineering and he’s been under review for like three weeks. I mean, he put down he had a 2.72 GPA, so I’m not quite sure why it’s taking so long to hear about his application. Do they hold off rejections until very late? Keep people in suspense until people accept/decline their admissions as freshmen and wait for some spots to open up? Idk. I keep thinking they’re like mulling over his application every day trying to place a judgment on it but then I think about how much time they probably really give to every applicant and know this must not be true.

All I know is I haven’t heard of anyone getting rejected yet.

CalDud, people with low GPAs tend to be given notice much later since CPP has to see if there are any left over spots especially with the yield rate.

Ok, so my to do list now has transcripts due from the two community colleges I attended. I’ve been looking, but haven’t had any luck seeing how to send them and whether unofficial transcripts are acceptable… Any help?

Only official transcripts are acceptable. Just write your mailing address and the school’s mailing address on the sealed envelope and that’s it I believe.

My status has changed from Ready to Review to Referred to impacted plan! Here’s hoping that I get accepted

Anyone know how long it takes for the status to update on your admission after seeing this?

That’s great Italianpnoy112! Congrats! What were your stats? :)

So I’ve been seeing a lot of movement on impacted majors do you guys think they work on impacted first then not impacted? Or do you think if I applied to a none impacted major and haven’t heard back thats a bad thing?

@raindroprose
Thanks! I’m surprised at how much faster they’re moving through impacted programs, hopefully I’ll see an answer sooner than I expected.
My stats are 3.75 in G.P.A. and I think I registered on the 5th day since registration opened.

Edit: Oh and I almost forgot to mention! Lol, I’m a CCC transfer therefore Sat/Act scores don’t pertain to me :)

Hopefully you’ll get an update too, just keep your head up!! I’m sure it’ll come Have you tried contacting admissions by any chance?

@Italianpnoy112 oh okay! I registered 11/27 so quite a bit after you! I haven’t contacted admissions! Would that be a good idea? I have a 3.4 non impacted major (music business major) and a 19 ACT

Hey I just realize I have this question, if you failed a class in fall semester and in spring semester you are given notice you’re provisional admitted and must send in transcripts, are you instantly rejected if you send in the transcript?

my status changed to ‘provisional admit’ as of today.
major: computer information systems

transfer student.

I applied to cal poly pomona on october 31st and I still have not heard anything from them. When I check my portal it still says “application received.” What could be going on?!

I GOT IN!

My status just changed this morning from “Referred to Impacted Plan” (had this status for an entire month) to “Admitted Clear”.

Animal Health Science. :)

Congrats! I’ve also been stuck at “referred to…” for a month…hopefully mine changes soon too :p

I’m still under application received

sigh
