Fallen Chemist

So sorry to hear that. As a NOLA resident and Tulane grad, I always enjoyed his informative posts. RIP.

Sorry to hear, he was was very knowledgable and helpful regarding Tulane.

David’s passing is truly a loss to the Tulane community. His thoughtful posts were always a pleasure to read, and indicated a person who cared about others. I would always wait to hear the “real deal” from a Fallen Chemist post once other posters had their say. He will be missed. Condolences to his family and friends.

And thank you to Jeff Schiffman for sharing this with David’s friends here on CC.

My daughter attends Tulane. Fallen Chemict was so very helpful to our family when she was going through college admissions. And I know he helped so many other families as well. And that’s a very special legacy. Prayers for his loved ones.

As I mentioned on another thread Fallen Chemist imparted so much useful information to me and my daughter about Tulane. He was the greatest ambassador for the school on College Confidential. He gave his blood, sweat and tears on CC, offering his knowledge about academics, scholarships, admissions, recreational and community service opportunities at Tulane. And places to see in New Orleans. He also defended the school well in so many threads and was such a great advocate for the school. His presence will be missed.

So very sad. Condolences to his daughter, a year behind my DS at Tulane, his son and wife.

Truly saddened to hear of Fallen Chemist’s passing. He was a helpful and positive voice of reason during D15’s college selection process and a great advocate for Tulane. Condolences to his family.

As both a College Confidential administrator and a Tulane parent, I was extremely grateful to David for the enormous amount of time he devoted to CC and, especially, to promoting Tulane and answering Tulane questions on our forum (with his pro-Tulane bias pushed as far onto the back burner as he could manage!). I also enjoyed many email exchanges with him where we discussed Tulane and, of course, our children, at length. My condolences to his son Trevor and daughter Stacy. He was so proud of them.

Oh, my gosh, how devastating. He was probably the most active moderator on CC. He moderated almost every night, all night. I always wondered when he got any sleep. My deep condolences to the Tulane community. You lost a treasure.

Such sad and shocking news. I always read and enjoyed Fallen Chemist’s posts and am so sorry to learn of his death. Tulane and CC have really suffered a great loss. My condolences to his family.

So sorry to hear this. He was such a wonderful supporter of Tulane and a positive influence on CC members. He will be missed.

Oh, no!! Tulane is very high on son’s list and we’re planning a visit solely due to his posts. :frowning:

My condolences to his friends and family.

Oh no. I always looked forward to his wisdom. We’re all better for having known him here. My condolences.

I am so sorry to hear this. My sincere condolences to his family and to his Tulane family. He will be greatly missed but will live on in your hearts. =((

Terrible news. My deepest sympathy to his family. If they ever get to read this I hope they know how very much appreciated he was on College Confidential. He was a guiding light through the college admissions process especially with regards to Tulane. He will be missed.

My condolences to David’s family and to you @TulaneJeff. David was always so very kind and helpful and such a wonderful advocate for Tulane. My heart goes out to his family.

Heartbreaking news. in what little one could know of someone here, he was an incredibly inspired and inspiring person, and helpful and thoughtful to the highest degree. A great loss for everyone, and the deepest of condolences to his family and loved ones.

My sincere condolences to his family. His wisdom on Tulane…and college admissions on general…as well as his candor will be sorely missed.
