@nomo1999 My son got into Tulane today. Tulane was the hidden gem I learned and got my son excited about because of Fallen Chemist. I miss all his advice but know he would be so excited with the acceptance.
As I have for many years, I sent a friend to the College Confidential site, and told her to look out for FC’s posts. She reported the sad news to me. He was the single most helpful source I ever encountered on CC – and between my two kids and trying to help friends and their children, I’ve seen dozens of college sites over the years! He was invariably helpful, extraordinarily well informed, and so kind to so many of us. He also understood that there are many terrific schools, and that the key is for the student to find the right match. He will be greatly missed. @TulaneJeff please do keep us posted on plans for a memorial.
bump - any updates?
I have occasionally researched on CC, most recently was looking at Tulane as my daughter got accepted and enjoyed reading all the past info David gave. I am shocked and saddened to hear about David’s passing as he provided so much information and you can tell all the passion he had for the school. My sympathy to the family.
It’s been exactly a year and we still miss Fallen Chemist!
Wow…a year… it’s hard to believe. RIP David. You are still very much missed. Your advice, guidance, and support made a big impact on so many Tulane families.
He is so missed here, this forum hasn’t been the same. His wisdom and guidance were so helpful to so many.
I miss you @fallenchemist. You were such an inspiration to myself and many others. Perhaps the one time I’ve ever cried over a person I’ve never met was hearing the news last year. Rest in peace.
