Favorite places to eat?

My folks are taking me to visit Brown. Anyone have any suggestions for good, but not terribly expensive restaurants close to campus? If you have a recommendation, please pass it along, thanks, coldcomfort

THAYYERRRR!!!!!!

East Coast Wraps....i like #9.

Geoff's Superlative Sandwiches

ANTONIO'S PIZZA BY THE SLICE (reallllly good and creative pizza)

there are also a bunch of sit down places that scream classy. just walk down thayer st...

Gotta recommend Kabob & Curry.

Paragon on Thayer St.

i second paragon... also the creperie but that's more of a snack than a meal

There's a Greek restaurant on Thayer Street which is very good. And I second Antonio's, for really cheap, really good pizza.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions. I have to say, the Brown board has the neatest people on it. That's one of the reasons that I'm visiting --coldcomfort

When are you visiting if you don't mind my asking? And are you a guy or a gal?

I'm a girl. We are visiting tomorrow, but we live pretty far away so we have to leave today.

I get the image that no one likes American food.

if by american food you mean like burgers and steaks, that's exactly what paragon is

Ah. Good.

I'm scared because it seems everyone loves Thai and Indian and anything asian. I've tried most asian food, and I don't like it. Just give me cheeseburgers, chicken wings, and anything Italian.

I love Thai ;). And most Asian. But I probably enjoy Johnny Rockets as uch as anyone else.

Fire and Ice in the mall is cool and a little different if you know a thing or two about cooking.

I don't go to Brown, but I used to live near Providence, so...

I second Kabob and Curry :)

antonio's (nice slice is good too, but $0.10 more expensive)
paragon
mama's falafel
the creperie
i'm blanking but i also like the (greek i think?) place across the street from johnny rockets
au bon pain

east side pockets. these are all mostly places on thayer though, you may wanna check out federal hill or wickendon street.

There's a relatively new restaurant called "Twist" in Wayland Square (just a few blocks east of Brown's campus) which has been getting great reviews. It's moderately priced and has great food; its signature is that each item on the menu is just a bit unusual in some way.

funkyspoon and aderoberts-- that greek place on thayer is called andreas... and yes, it is very good, although i was told by one brown alum that the restaurant is a front for a cocaine dealer.

Johnny Rocket's for ' American' food
