Favorite word

I have a favorite word and i have specific reasons for liking it. However, it's a quite obscure word and most people would just find it a weird choice. Should i explain it in the additional info section? I actually think the explanation kind of reveal the way i think about things. But would they just find it too minor?

Btw, my essay (the 300 words one) is 550 words, but I don't think i can cut it anymore without losing the effect i'm trying to convey. Do you think it's ok?
(if the word # question has been asked a lot of times before too, i apologize)

Is anybody else sending in the app the very last minute (jan 1), like me?

oops i just saw the tread started by btlesgirl, guess i should've posted this there, sorry

There is no need to explain your reasoning for choosing your favorite word and putting the explanation in the Additional Information section is excessive. In fact, admissions officers would probably see this as presumptuous and pretentious.

I think the length of your essay is fine, as long as it's shorter than your 500 word essay.

It's not an important part of your application

Yeah, I'm going to send my app in probably tomorrow around 10 o'clock. Lovely procrastination...I thought about sending it today but I decided to go out and have a fabulous New Year's Eve instead!

if you explain it, you restrict other minds.
if you leave it alone, there may be a lot of imaginations...

whats the word?

i think its an "answer".
It fits perfectly.
