no it was 4… because you had to split it up into 2 triangles and a rectangle…after you did all the areas of those, you get 1 + 1 + 2… my teacher told me that 1 + 1 + 2 is equal to 4 so i think that is the answer

^the way i looked at it is imagine that both square are facing same direction. The area shouldn’t change by rotating the larger square. It’s like imagining that the bigger square was 1000x larger. I don’t think it’d matter (as long as 4 is correct answer).

I set up two right triangles, and found half of the diagonal of the square with side length 4.
That half diagonal was 2radical2, and then found the area of two right triangles and guesstimated the last sliver. It was more than 4, but less than 6.

well think about that…thats wrong what u just said because think about it… take 2 square pieces of paper and tilt them… the area is not the same all the time… you had to split it up and do areas

@BCB1993 - It didn’t say anything about Lens cells but it did say cone cells in the eyes oversee transmission of light information to the brain or something along the lines of that. From that information, you could technically deduce lens cells. Neurons seemed like the appropriate fit though so I’m not sure.

^I just don’t understand how we could find out the areas of the triangles and what not. Is 4 the correct answer, though?

Nevermind. I think I realize how it could have been solved.

The English question about the guys name then book. Was it name book, or just name book with no comma or name, book, ?

It was one of the last 5 questions. It’s not that simple. I’m quite sure I’m right, still.
Can someone instruct me on how to draw it so I can retry it?

well you just had to split it up and guesstimate… answer is 4 95% sure

@touhou Alright that kind of makes sense but realistically speaking, there should be a method to find the exact answer. I don’t think it would be a viable question for the test if it was not possible to find a concrete answer.

p4 was w.e was under 200,000, it was A on mine, cus if u looked at the thing at 12 hours which was the fourth geneartion cus it got a new generatin every 3 hours, and it was under 200,000

i put no comma but that was one of the few i was iffy on

I guessed 4. By the end of the math test, all I wanted to do was rip up my answer sheet.

@cooldude- You’ve got a good point. Now I’m starting to doubt Neuron. haha

Explain to me logically how it’s 4. My two areas I found disproved it being 4.

p4 was 120K (only choice under 200K)

its hard to do it without remembering the same exact picture and over the internet

I put 4.5, I split it up into 2 triangles and a rectangle, and it was over 4

i like your reasoning

Well, my logic was that the intersection had to be 1/4 of the smaller triangle, since it formed at the center and was a 90 degree angle. So, I took 1/4 of 16 and got 4. I think that I put 4.5 anyway, though, since my rational at the moment was that it be > 1/4 since the length of the other square was 5.

You can’t do what you just said. You can’t move the given like that. haha.
