***February 2016 ACT Discussion Thread***

@brant9297 i’m in the same boat it feels like crap to see all these happy people GAH :((

@fairagoura @brant9297 it’s so tempting to pay 50 dollars to get it hand-scored. Honestly, it seems like an easy way the ACT makes extra money from high schoolers like us that felt like we did well but actually didn’t lol. But honestly…i’ve never gotten a 25 or even close to that on science before :confused:

Speaking of weird subscores, how about an English 35 with 18 and 18 subscores? That’s what S17 got.
Not too worried - ACT does their own math their own way…

@EcSkater yeah, that’s what it suggested. But I am of the opinion that if it will make you sleep better to not have doubts about the score…then do it. What can it hurt? good luck!

@Crusoemom mom How can that be - two 18 subscores equating to a 35?

@suzyQ7
If you can get one wrong and sometimes still get a 36, then you can get one wrong within the subscore and still get an 18. So somehow there’s a way to get a get one wrong within a subscore and still get a perfect score, while having that one wrong count against your total section score (hope that made sense and that I’m not telling you something you already know). :slight_smile:

I like this chart. I saw where I could have gotten just one more and upped my score.
https://mindfish.com/act-score-chart/

Can someone plzz predict my scores?!?
English: -4
Math: -12
Reading: -4
Science: -8

Also, my scores say that they are tested, yet when I click on the link, it says that they have received the test but have not graded it

@hungrypanda English: 32-33 Math: 27-28 Reading: 32-33 Science: 26-27 So composite wise I would say 29-30. Dont take my word on it, but let me know how close I was haha.

@hungrypanda This is what I got from chart:
Comp 30
Eng 34
Math 29
Reading 34
Science 26

It probably could be give or take…but close

@kikidee9 @Gunkz123 all right… Thnx guys!

@Gunkz123 Do you mind me asking if you received an email telling you your scores were released? or did you just check?

@busyBBee I just checked the their website. If you haven’t received your scores, check every Wed and Friday. Most people get them the first day it came out, but many times scores can come out at different times for no real reasons.

Is -1 in science–for this test–a 34 or 35?

@hungrypanda I think a 35

Wow, science curve must have been pretty tough
C: 32
E: 34
M: 33
R: 34
S: 25

@Axebyte did you feel like the science was that hard? I got the same score on science and felt like it was pretty easy…im still wondering what happened

Coming out of the test, I though I did pretty well, maybe around 31-32. Was completely thrown off with the 25 cause I didn’t really think the section was that hard.

@Axebyte do you remember what form you had? And same…hate how the science is so unpredictable and how the curve can vary drastically from test to test
