Feeling really depressed... will I have any chance of being accepted?

So basically, long story short, community college was my time of many, many mistakes as opposed to improving from high school. I went through my “partying” phase, my “not being able to juggle work with school” phase (longest one), my " emotional distress" phase, and I’ve gone through a “bite off waaaaay more than I can chew” phase. Last semester, I had 16 units and 2 jobs, for instance.

Anyways, I feel almost completely stuck… I wish I could go back in time and redo community college.

My current GPA is a 2.71, I’ll be taking 3 more classes Spring (one of which is a class I’m retaking) and probably another over Summer, which means I could change my GPA a decent amount if I really, really do well. Maybe up to a 3.0?

I don’t know if CSU’s actually look at SAT scores still, but mine was in the 1600’s, high school GPA was a 3.07.

Worst part is, I recently changed my major to computer science. It’s not impacted at CSUN but boy does this GPA not fly.

I really, honestly just want to get into CSUN and have a fresh start. Do I not stand a chance? I applied for Fall 2016, and I honestly just want to leave my community college and start over.

No, CSU’s will not look at HS grades or test scores if you are a transfer student. CSUN had an 8% admit rate for Engineering/CS last fall. It does not bode well on your chances this year.
1360 applicants and 113 accepted.

So what am I supposed to do to fix that?

You can’t. choose another major or another school but don’t be depressed. There are many ways to get to where you eventually want to be. Where would that be for you? What kind of career do you want?

Do not be depressed. Slap yourself out of it!

I would stay another year to bump up your GPA if you are not accepted this Fall to CSUN. What else can you do if you want to pursue a BS in Computer Science? Consider some other non-impacted Cal States that will accept your lower GPA such as Bakersfield, East Bay, Stanislaus, Channel Islands and Dominguez Hills.
