Fees - Presidential Scholars

My son’s Presidential Scholarship offer states that it covers 4 years of tuition and fees. I recently received the AU bill and found that $500 (annual) in Honors College fees are not covered under “fees” in the scholarship. We assumed the honors college fees were covered since it was an academic scholarship. Has anyone else looked into this?

I googled a little and see where they receive an invite to Honors but don’t see where they say they pay the fee. Would call FA office. They should be able to tell you.

The honors college fee is not covered. I think it is a one-time fee, however. They did mention this cost at CWE.

I would pay the fee. If son does well, there are scholarships that are restricted to the Honors College that he might receive later.

Unfortunately the fees are not covered and are not a one time fee. We have to pay each semester.

Does it cost more to be in the Honors College?
Beginning with the freshman class of 2011, a $250 fee will be assessed each fall and spring semester. The fee will decrease to $225 each semester the sophomore year and $200 each semester the junior and senior years. The fee provides funds for the College to continue offering exceptional learning experiences, interdisciplinary courses, additional faculty, and small class sizes for students.

Sorry about the one-time fee error–my mistake.
