few items

for bedsheets, did most people go to bed bath and beyond? and if so, what sizes did you get? also, are ppl. bringing lots of pillows/blankets/comforters, etc.

also, should we bring school-related items such as paper, notebooks, pens/pencils, highlighters, etc. (for those of us who also want to study by hand)

isn't it also much more convenient to just buy hygiene items during movein week?

thanks

We got XL Twin sheets at Target and Linens 'N Things.

However, we found that regular Twin sheets from Lands End and LL Bean were made roomy enough to fit on the XL Twin beds. They were made with extra material for a secure fit on regular beds, and there's enough material to comfortably fit on the XL Twin bed.

You should definitely bring any study-related items you'll want as sometimes the bookstore prices are more expensive than what you'll pay somewhere like Target. The bookstore is good if you need to conveniently replenish your supplies later in the year. And if you want folders and notebooks with the USC logo, the bookstore is also good for that. :)

You will likely be very busy the first week with various Welcome Week activities (dorm meetings, department BBQs, fun stuff like scavenger hunt and dive-in movie, Friends & Neighbors Day, beach trip, etc. etc.) so you should weigh that against the "chore" of needing to go somewhere like a Target for hygiene items. If you don't have a car, USC does provide shopping transportation as part of Welcome Week events, but if you live close enough to conveniently bring your own stuff with you, that will save you time your first week. You can get some hygiene things on campus (in the pharmacy, etc.) but maybe not everything, or maybe not the brands you prefer. Later in the year, of course, it's no big deal to restock things, but your first week you might want to keep your schedule as open as possible.

twin xl, also go buy the memory foam mattress add on at costco or somewhere, at least i thought it was way worth it, the mattresses are very cheap and uncomfortable.
2 and 3. wait for school to get that stuff you have a lot of free time welcome week to do all that.
