fewer classes + higher gpa, or more classes with lower gpa?

I'm a CCC student and I'm planning on taking 3 classes this spring, and I'm debating on whether or not to take another class, but I'm not confident that I will be able to get an A in all of them if I do. Though I am very confident that I can get an A in every class if I just stick to the 3 classes only...but would that seem like too few classes, even though it would still be 12 units (considered full-time at my CC)? So would colleges favor a transcript with a higher gpa but fewer classes each semester, or a lower gpa with more classes per semester?

Are the three classes you’re taking ones like calc, o-chem, and advanced physics? If so, I’d probably only take those three.

If not…if they’re humanities classes, I’d personally take five classes to finish on time (or you can do summer/winter to make up for it).

I don’t think they look at individual semesters and say “hey, this person only took three classes in Spring 08”. But when a Berkeley admissions rep (Ana Rafferty) came to my school, she did say that people that work and go to school full time, while maintaining excellent grades, certainly get noticed.

im taking chem and physics haha… sux..

Not exactly, the 3 classes are: general physics, intro to programming with java, and beginning spanish.

just take 3 and get high GPA! that is my recommendation!

I would definitely go with the three classes and the high GPA.

Thanks for the advice!

NAIVE ! ! !
take 3 classes get a high GPA and state that you work 40 hours thats why you are taking 3 classes.
