Fight Racism

The way to end discrimination based on race is to admit the truth...

We don't know our race.... no one really knows his or her whole family tree.

The only thing we can be sure of..... we ALL have roots in Africa.

ALL HUMAN LIFE originated there.

So all college applicants can honestly say, they have African heritage.

If everyone admits their African heritage, schools won't be able to discriminate based on race.

End racism NOW!!

Silence thyself, troll!

Just because we all have origins in Africa, doesn't mean we're the same race.

I am not on Whoopie Goldberg's level of blackness.

Dude, i'm as white as paper....

I think racism is good and can be a good motivator. It creates inequality and makes people hungry.

I get categorized as a cracker every day when i go outside. Im white and in the minority where I live. I actually like it.

Since when is skin colour an indicator of race? Think outside of historical precedent and for yourself, for once.

PUAHAHAH...

but, really, what happens if you lie about your ethnicity on your app.?

they cant do anything.

How the hell is it not? Typically when people see me, they can tell i am caucasian... and not african american, native american, or asian... just by the color of my skin.

^ It's not always like that though. I am VERY white, but I have about 50% non-white ethnicities in me. I just happened to get the pasty white British skin whereas my parents are both pretty dark. However, when you see the shape of my eyes, you know I'm not just white. I'm just saying, it's not always about skin color.

Besides, pretty soon everyone is going to be beige. Might as well start mixing now. (Russell Peters). I agree with the OP though (sort of), racism is just dumb because there really is no way to adequately tell where one race ends and another begins.

Superficial differences do not make races. For example, the fact that I may be good-looking while you may be ugly does not necessarily make us of different races.

Different skin colours can be widely observed WITHIN races. For example, within the Caucasian race: Nordic Europeans and Arabs. Or within the Asian race: Chinese and Indonesians. How do you explain that?

Speak for yourself. I am ridiculously good-looking because I am descended from the Archangel Gabriel. I think the fact that I'm half-holy puts me on a level far above you mere mortals.

Just trying to make a point. Didn't mean to undermine your man-prettiness.

nobody really knows their complete racial make up.....

because our grandparents or great grandparents "LOOKED" a particular way doesn't mean they are one race

North Africans in many/most cases look "white"..... but they are as African as anyone else from the continent.

People have been travelling back and forth from Southern Africa to North Africa, the Middle East and South Asia for thousands of years. China sent explorers and traders to Africa hundreds of years ago.

Even if you have blond hair and blue eyes and think you are from Sweden.... you really don't know your full genetic inheritance. The Vikings travelled to the New World & up and down the Atlantic Seabord all the way to north africa........

No one really knows who is in their family tree..... so when people answer questions about ethnicity... they saying.... as far as I know in the last few generations my family was from this part of the world.

But human beings have been around for 100,000 to 200,000 years.

No one knows what happened to their family 1,000 years ago, let alone, 5,000 years ago or 10,000 years ago

The only thing all people can be sure of.......according to the best science we have .... all human life originated in East Africa and then spread to the rest of the world.

So we all have African heritage.

Everyone can "HONESTLY" say they have African heritage.

when you consider the full span of human existence... going back say 100,000 years can anyone say with certainty that they are not of mixed heritage.

African American's should be happy if everyone declares they have African heritage.

If everyone is African, you can't discriminate against yourself.

Lets end racially biased college admissions.

Declare your African Heritage.

We are all African's.

Just talk to the archaeologists who say humans originated in East Africa.

Declare you African heritage and end racially biased college admissions [AA].

Talk to your friends.

Its a radical idea that could work.

Should everyone also declare him/herself a "shim" so we can end gender-based admissions, too? Declare your intersexed identity and stop AA for males/females (depending on the schools to which you are applying)! :/

see but what you are saying is flawed op. To believe science which says everybody came from Africa, well first you would need to believe in science. Which I don't believe any of it.

If you can prove science is truth and fact then maybe I can believe it. But nothing in science can be proven as fact and thus is just a idea or theory.

If people are speculative of god, well all science should be just as speculative.

Dr.Horse, aren't you an engineer (or some sort of computer related technology), and thus believe in science...?

Anywho, the OP has posted this topic all over CC - I think he just likes to stir up these kind of discussions for the heck of it. Let's not play into it... lets just put this all to rest, eh?

rabblerouser,

The problem with racism is not at the genetic level, it's at the superficial and shallow level. We all may share 99.99% of the same DNA, but as long as the dumber sections of society are willing to classify millions of people as subhuman or "differerent" based on a meaningless difference like skin colour, it really doesn't matter if we indeed all came from Africa.

Racist believe they are fundamentally better than others.

Black racists should know that roughly 40% of self declared African American who have been genetically tested show a partially white heritage.

White racists should know that all humans have African heritage.
