<p>I filed for 10-11 when im going to school fall '11. i started again in fafsa.gov to file the '11-12. most of the info is already pre filled except the tax return things. the '11-12 fafsa requires tax return from 2010. the 10-11 requries tax return form 2009. dont know if my parents recievied/filed the 2010 form. i need urgent help because i just found out about this recently looking over my fafsa info</p>
<p>You do need to fill out the 11-12 FAFSA and probably right away (many deadlines are near). If your parents have not yet finished their taxes, then use the best estimates possible. Often that is simply the same numbers from last year’s taxes (if jobs have stayed the same). You can later amend the FAFSA (or “Correct” the Fafsa) once the taxes are completed.
This is a challenging form. Make sure you print off a copy because it will help with completing the form next year. I assure you that the first year is the hardest.</p>
<p>Thank you!! im freaking out right now because no wonder my colleges werent giving me financial aid. my parents cant find the 2010 tax return so i guess im going to put the same info as before. hopefully the colleges can recieve it soon</p>
