Fin. aid in Canadian and Aussie Univ.

Is there any uni in canada or ausstralia that offer good aid to intl.

Financial Aid from Australia universities? That's something unheard of. Australian universities are simply money making machines.

There must be at least one univ which gives aid or scholarship to undergraduates.

If AUD 2k off the fees is what you call a scholarship, then you can scout around.

If you're expecting full rides and all.......dream on.

wHAT ABOUT Candan ones

There are, McGill offers need based financial aid to internationals.

I will be attending U of Melbourne in australia. There is scholarship available for international students, but very competitive. Only the top 40 applicants get 25% reduction in tuition fee, and i think the top 10 gets exempt from the whole tuition fee. I may not be exact in the numbers, but they are a good approximation told to me by the university representative.

Hey anonamous whats the name of the scholarship. It would be great if you could post a link to it.

Sorry I dont have the link to it. I got this information from talking to the university representative in my country. Try to get in contact with the university via email, phone, counselling agency, or anything

McGill also offers merit-based, esp. to grad. students.

A quick browse through the hompage of the University of Melbourne shows that the scholarships are mainly for postgrad research degrees or for those with disabilities.

Generous undergraduate scholarships are minimal or nonexistent at all. Fees paid by internationals are a major source of income for Australian universities. One still needs to fork out a considerable sum of money even if one gets a fee reduction.

yeah my general impression is that if u can't pay more than say 5000USD/year, US is the only place that can provide you with enough financial aid to cover your expenses. most UK, Canadian, or Canadian universities either don't provide any aid, or some form of merit scholarships that rarely exceed 5000 Pounds. Full tuition scholarships are rare though available sometimes. But even then, you need to fork out in excess of 5000USD for living expenses. So that's still kinda ex.

In fact, my friend who graduated with a full 45 points (less than 40 ppl in the world got it) for his IB got full scholarship at U of Melbourne. So yes, there is scholarship, but very very competitive, so you might be better off applying to the ivies + the likes.

Sorry to bring up a new thread but..meh.
Yeah, Australian Unis do like earning money...hehe. The only finanical aid option (as mentioned earlier) would be to get a scholarship, which swould be quite hard, but dont dismiss it, it is possible.

mcgill might but i think it's quite rare for cdn. uni's to give aid. At least ontario based ones. It is possible for them to offer merit based scholarships but for internationals I think it's pretty slim.
