Fin Aid Packages coming soon

I noticed that based on last year threads… that people started seeing the Fin Aid packages as early as Jan 25th. When I spoke to Fin Aid office a couple weeks ago they did tell me 1st round would go out mid January. Anyone hear anything yet?
Hoping for some real good aid with a low EFC but I know they calculate it different … but keeping my fingers crossed.

I better get some good financial aid. My package from Babson was crap.

Yeah, my son’s other top choice is Uof Michigan and I know they give crappy fin aid… So, I am hoping Boston pulls through…

Was told today… FA packages will be online on Sunday… or if you go to accepted students day you will get them…Keeping my fingers crossed…

fa packages are available online now on the student portal

I don’t see anything on my son’s…

We got ours - pretty depressing.

Thanks for the update, I’ll be waiting. If you don’t mind, would you be willing to post what you got, and like general fin info like income bracket?

I submitted the Profile late but my daughter’s “award” was up. Really wouldn’t call it an award :(

Wow, this is not good at all. Those of you who got your packages already… Did you ever use college boards Institutional Methodology (IM) to figure out your EFC not just the Federal… I was just curious if BC numbers were more inline with that.
thanks…

Oh my god… $3500 loan, $2400 work study. What the F. Are you kidding me that is horse*****. Babson even gave me a larger aid package. And Babson has a way smaller endowment, and isn’t supposed to meet 100% of aid!

If all my schools end up like Babson or Boston, there’s no way I’ll be able to go to them, and I’ll just have to go to my state school.

Nuclear Penguins - my daughter got the same as you.

My D received the same as well.

I have basically dropped Boston off my list now.

Looks like we all got a standard package. Problem is BC takes into account more of your home equity when figuring out what you can afford to pay.

Ahhh that would make sense Hockeydad. Do you happen to know how much it is considered?

Well, when I added the equity in my house… it add 10,000 more to my EFC.

Huh, how much would an 800K house add I wonder.

depends on what you owe on it…Not the worth but the equity in the house… I showed 200,000 equity… just use the calculator on college board… and click on the bubble to figure out both FM and IM and you can see the difference.

Ah ok thanks for your help Giantsfan.
