Fin Aid Packages?

MikeyD223, yeah i agree that williams is not necessarily more difficult for intls than americans. when you said you were going back to work, i thought you were referring to your on-campus job or something, until after careful re-reading, i realised you graduated from Williams eons ago! j/k....anyway, did you major in computer science? i've heard from current students that there are very lucrative summer internship/research opportunities. i wonder if you could shed more light on how lucrative they could get. were you engaged in any during your time at will? again, do you have to be a genius to do research? cos i'm just wondering that if you're doing research in, say physics, then you must have covered all the basic stuff, before going on a quest for more stuff...i would just like to know how realistic it is for freshmen/women to make money rather than spend it during the summer...thanks.

HI jROCK. I was not a comp sci major, yet I seem to have been pidgeon-holed as a programmer.

I spent a summer at Williams doing research. Typically, researchers get room/board at Williams + a stipend. I wouldn't call it a generous stipend. Summer in the Berkshires in really quite wonderful. There's a ton of stuff happening, and the weather is quite warm and generally sunny.

You might consider investigating summer internships in the Silicon valley if you are really serious about making money. Internships in banking are also lucrative, but you wouldn't be able to apply for these until your junior year. What about waiting tables?? There are some fancy restaurants in W-town, and you seem very likeable. Tips can add up very quickly!!!!

And trust me!! You don;t have to be a genius to get involved with research at Williams

heyy mickeyd223. did u go for grad school after Williams? do most undergrad in Williams go for grad school? or do they opt to work instead? just curious:)

I went to grad school, and will be returning next year. Most Williams students work after graduation, and subsequently attend grad school.

Here is a link to where some Ephs will be going next year.

thanks for the info MikeyD223:) I'll be on the lookout.
