Final Day to Decide- Drop out or not?

Quick Facts- Live in Texas, Sophomore, School has block schedule, ranked 44/716(top 6%), Want to go to UT Austin, Baylor, Etc.

Half the semester is almost over, so I can finally have the chance to drop out of Spanish 4 AP. This semester I will likely end the class with a 79 or 80. I have never received grade this low. I hardly ever get below an 85 in a class. I want to drop out but at the same time I dont want to drop out. I will make myself feel like a quitter since I never dropped a class before. It has the potential to ruin my schedule (likely not). But at the same time I want to drop out of the class, so my GPA wont get ruined and I can still be in top 10%. What would you guys do in my situation?

Note*- This semester of Spanish 4 AP will count on my transcript. It will hurt my GPA but not as bad as it would if I take class both semesters.

Well why are you doing so bad in the class in the first place? Perhaps it’s just a simple concept about your teacher’s tests or something that’ll bring you back to your A-game. Did you try software like Rosetta Stone or something to supplement your coursework?

If you’re a sophomore taking an AP language, there’s plenty chance to pick up and advance in another language class.

drop

ten

@HONORLIONS

To be honest Spanish 4 AP is the only class I actually study for nowadays. Chem PAP and and English 2 PAP seem like a breeze. Maybe I am just naturally not good in Spanish. Another reason why I might be so bad is that I took Spanish 3 PAP almost a full year before so maybe I forgot many concepts.

any final recommendations guys before i sign the form?
