Final decision about Exercise Science/Kinesiology at Michigan, UT-Austin or USC

D has been accepted at all three of these schools. Michigan and UT-Austin both have defined Kinesiology programs. USC has a human biology major with B.S. opportunities (including applied human physiology) as well as B.A. opportunities that focus on human performance/kinesiology. We are OOS for all and while money is not the biggest issue, I’m not sure that USC (with its hefty $67k pricetag) adds anything beyond the other two, and may add some pretentiousness (but maybe that’s unfair). I’m interested in people’s thoughts, opinions, experiences. I will push for Michigan, given its institutional prestige. But, UT is an outstanding school and its Kinesiology department is equal to or better than UMICH. It disturbs me some that UT’s 4 year graduation rate is barely over 50% compared to UMICH at over 75%. Also OOS Texas seems like more of a minority position that OOS Michigan. Appreciate thoughts/comments.

BUMP - any comments?

Michigan is the better choice out of the three schools. If your son/daughter decides to change colleges/major, Michigan has no academic weaknesses.

Thanks @rjkofnovi - I agree. She is torn some due to a club sport interest that may be more active at UT - something extremely important to her. We’re discouraging her from making a decision based solely on that interest.
