Final Semester Units for TAG

<p>Hello,
I plan on transferring to UCD via TAG for Fall 2013 majoring in Pharmaceutical Chemistry. I met with my counselor and recently got my TAG submitted. This is my 3rd year (5th semester) at my community college and up until now I have been enrolled in upwards of 14 units each semester. Being at my CC for as long as I have, I've completed all of the General Ed requirements I need and almost all of my major pre-reqs.The only classes I need I am taking now and plan on taking next semester (Spring 2013). I am taking 10 units this semester; Cellular Bio & O-Chem I. Next semester I am planning on taking Evolutionary Bio & O-Chem II (another 10 units).</p>

<p>The problem is that these 10 units do not qualify me as a "full-time" student (12 semester units) and my counselor informed me that TAG is for students who are full time from Spring 2012-Spring 2013...</p>

<p>I'm worried that my TAG will be denied. Within the TAG, I stated why I am not a full time student which is because the above classes are the only ones that I need and it is much more reasonable to focus on those two fairly rigorous courses.</p>

<p>What are the chances that my TAG will be denied? Anyone's TAG accepted who were NOT "full-time" students for a year before they transferred? Thanks.</p>

<p>That is what I’m talking about. I don’t know if they will consider my reason to be a good cause. I’m thinking not likely though…
I’m given the impression that they consider “good cause” something like “Oh, my mother’s been ill and i have 3 jobs to support my younger siblings, etc…”</p>

<p>I would just take a 3 unit class. You might’ve ruined your chances since you won’t be full time this semester though.</p>

<p>From the UC Davis TAG website:</p>

<p>Full-time enrollment at a California community college from spring term 2012 through spring term 2013 is expected, though part-time enrollment is permissible for good cause. Students enrolled part-time at a California community college should provide a brief explanation about reasons for part-time attendance in the section of the UC TAG Application titled “Additional comments regarding your TAG application.” A UC Davis representative, in consultation with your community college counselor has the sole discretion to make exceptions to the expectation for full-time enrollment. An example of “good cause” would be a student’s need to attend school part-time because s/he is employed.</p>

my friend got approved last year, and she did not study on Fall 2011,
(and she just give a simple reason, said she need to take care her dad after surgery)</p>

<p>They are pretty lenient on being part-time. I asked through this:</p>
