Final semester's tuition check is in the mail

We met our goal of giving our son a debt free college education. woo hoo!

Congratulations, swdad1! That’s our goal, too. I hope swson1 rises up and calls you blessed. :)

Congratulations!! It’s a good feeling!! Last kid finished two years ago and I’m still feeling good.

We have gotten 3 through with no debt so far and are working on the 4th and last. It is a great feeling-congratulations!

Wow, congrats to all of you with multiples. Not sure I could have handled more than one unless they were born 20 years apart.

I just the last check for number 2 so am celebrating also along with looking forward to flying out for graduation in spring. Number 3 is starting his second semester so I wont’ be jumping for total joy for 3 years. It’s painful but it goes so darn fast.

We are 3/4 of the way there. Oldest son graduates on time in June, and youngest will finish his sophomore year in May. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel!

Yes that last payment is on its way! Now if only his professor would email him back about that “I” for one of his classes! He has no idea what it could be, and every class counts.
It hasn’t been an easy ride, but I can see the finish line.

Just sent the last undergrad payment but hoping it’s not the last tuition check! D is waiting to hear back from grad schools. While she will pay for a good portion of grad school herself, we will help her with some part of it -IF she gets in. If, if, if. Fingers crossed!

Ds1 is on trimesters so two more terms for us, but he’ll be graduating with less than $5K in debt thanks in part to a generous FA package. We wanted him to have skin in the game, but he has enough savings to pay that off.

Congratulations!! I hope my last kid will be done in 2017.

Congratulations!!! We have two more payments, one this month and the final one in next Feb. However, DS does have Perkins and subsidized Stafford loans.

It will be 6 years in total for two kids.

It is like at the 25th mile of a Marathon - you are hurting all over and the end is near.

Congrats! Hopefully the graduation ceremony is cathargenic for you!

Cathargenic?

I can almost say that, but her school has qtrs. But thanks for the perspective!

Thank you all. Lafalum, our son is also planning on grad school. He submitted all of his applications on time (yea) and is now waiting. He has received interview invitations from 3 schools so far so we are cautiously optimistic. Good luck

Congrats. For us, one down, one to go (sophomore). But both will graduate with no debt. D1 will have a Ph.D and not a penny of debt (fully funded program but still a little help from us for some living expenses). She understands very well how lucky she is. D2 may go for an MBA, but still TBD. We have the means to get this done, and we will do it. New grads have enough problems finding jobs, so we will get the kids educated on our dime at least.

Again, congrats to the OP.

Congratulations!
Me too! Well, we are making payments, but yes, it’s the last semester. The real treat is that we are talking both kids. Our son had some major health challenges that slowed him down, then he went to work full time. He is four years older than our daughter, but both are finishing in May!!! With no debt. I am so excited I can’t stand it! One commencement is on a Saturday morning, then the next is the next day, Sunday morning, on the opposite coast! I will be the happiest person on that overnight flight! And, in a couple of hours, we’ll pick up our daughter from the airport for her Christmas break. Life is good! Congratulations to all of us, and our kids, for this great success!

Congrats sopranomom92! You have certainly earned your joy. :)

sopranomom92, congratulations! You got me excited too!!

Our last check is in the mail, son will graduate with no debt thanks to my parents whose bequest took care of the last two years. He’ll take a year off and then is planning to apply to graduate school, we’ll cross that bridge after the commencement euphoria wears off.
