FINALLY Narrowed Down My List

College Search & Selection

<p>After weeks and weeks of researching, narrowing down and all that, I THINK I finally have my college list. Of course I know my counselor is probably gon probably reccomend me a few but from my side, this is it. Again, my major is Broadcast Journalism and DEPENDING on the college, my minor might be Criminal Justice, Music or something else 'related' to my major. GPA of 3.4. Senior in H.S. Have yet to take the SATs. </p>

<p>Five Towns is a music college and is in one sense, the college I want to attend but also the college I least want to attend. Its a small college, no sports, double the amount of males then females but it does offer Music Business which is my dream major. But since it is the ONLY college on my list (besides William Paterson that offers it as a minor) that offers it, its all on its own versus all the other colleges. So ill see what happens once I visit it.</p>

<p>Rutgers is the State college. Thats where everyone is going. It has a good Journalism program but It really doesn't offer any of the minors I want. So Id have to pick somethin else. Also, the site doesnt say much about internships so Rutgers has me a little confused.</p>

<p>Seton Hall and Kean are schools near my area, and If for some reason I dont go to any of the other colleges, I can easily go to these schools because I know my way around. And ill probably have a car if I stay in the area. But these are my last choices.</p>

<p>Temple is the college I want to attend the most. I know people that go there. The programs are excellent. Social life is good. Philly is right there. Its perfect for me and I would be 2 hours away living on my own. Ill just have to see how much aid/grants they'll offer me.</p>

<p>Im not too sure about Rowan because its in a desert city lol. Everything is so far away. But I hear that Communications its one of its strongest programs and the curriculum looks very appealing.</p>

<p>If any of you have any comments, suggetions on any of the schools mentioned, please let me know.</p>

<p>i think your list sounds very good, but why apply to the reaches if you want to go to a match?</p>

<p>Reach schools are usually "dream" schools. Which I don't get, but whatever. Do you like any of your reaches as much as Temple? If not, just add a match and you're really good.</p>

<p>Very good point. Im a look a little more into Ramapo and Emerson since they're just there and theres "matches" Id prefer to go to over these 2. Very good point.</p>
