Financial aid for Fall 2011

I think at this point, nobody should be arguing about financial burdens over this forum. It is not getting anything accomplished or making things any better for anyone. Since nobody here knows the full extent of each others financial situation, I think it would be best that the speculation stops.

I just need to comment! I promise it can be helpful in some form!

Aggiemomma14,
I can understand your frustration!
I would recommend your son to take some community college credits during the summer that are creditable for A&M to reduce the cost! Tell him to apply apply apply for scholarships!! There are a lot, and some are fun to do! I would do them but I’m not qualified. I will be living off campus, and won’t buy a permit sticker ($275) and use as much as possible the shuttle to save some money on gas too!
I really do understand your situation. We do the same, we have no ‘‘iphones’’,! We try to avoid eating out, we try to save electricity, smartly plan our car usage, no cable, try to buy what is necessary only. We barely use the central A/C, only when we are above 100 outside, and 84 inside. Funny to think that when we limit our budget and save money, we are also saving the environment.

I think the key is to keep positive, and excel at what we do.

‘‘Debt is the worst poverty.’’

If you haven’t checked your financial aid in a while, check again today! Some friends of mine have reported that their financial aid package was updated and increased
