Financial aid for international students

Hi all! My brother just got accepted to WM which has been a dream school for him for a really long time. Now comes the difficult talk about whether the college is within our financial means, and how we're going to afford the cost of the excellent education at WM. :(

I know that as a state university, WM's financial aid is primarily for in-state students, but I was wondering if there's any financial aid available for international students, or work-study options available on campus. Would love to find out more about the options available to our family if possible. Thanks in advance for your inputs!

If he’s accepted, his admissions counselor probably can get someone in the financial aid office to answer those questions.

He can call ahead or wait for the information.

Thanks for the advice, both! He’s going to call ahead and get some additional information, since the deadline for confirming acceptance of the offer is only a month away.

Unfortunately, if he is not a US citizen he is not eligible for any financial aid (which includes work study). If he is a US citizen or permanent resident, he is eligible for aid and will hear from our Financial Aid Office (assuming he applied for financial aid) in the next week or so. He could possibly get a non-work study job on campus.
