Can anyone point me to some safeties with good aid for internationals? Preferably private schools?

No one can point you to safeties without knowing your GPA, SAT/ACT scores, and what your parents CAN pay for you to attend college.

There aren’t any safeties for int’ls if their parents can’t pay much.

Do you know why? Because if there were, a gazillion int’ls would apply to those schools and then voila…no longer a safety.

However, if you have HIGH stats, and your family can pay a good bit (maybe $17k per year or so), then there are some schools that will give you free tuition (or a bit more) and your family could pay the rest.

From your Yale post…

*Hey guys, so I took my SAT in March and got dismal scores:

680 680 760

But I took it in October again:

800 670 750

So my CR + M composite would be 1480 considering the highest scores, but that disparity between my linguistic and mathematical capabilities is what’s bothering me. I know it’s hard to tell, but what do you think Yale will think? My application has lots of honors pertaining to writing so will they take that into account and just accept that I’m an English buff?

Thanks.*

As you know, the ivies are super competitive, and even more difficult for int’ls…especially if they’re from a country where they get a LOT of apps.

This is the financial aid forum…not the chances forum.

We have no way of knowing whether you would qualify for need based aid at Yale…or anywhere else…as that is based on your family’s income and assets.

Yale is competitive accepting less than 10% of applicants…and likely 5% of international applicants.

Translation…between 90% and 95% of applicants do NOT get accepted.

It is NOT a safety for anyone. actually, it is not a sure thing for anyone.
